To think that it's really hard for someone over 35 to bake?

I just can't seem to cover my eye bags? See pic.

I've tried putting foundation on but not by my eyes, then using concealer around the dark bits but it always goes crepey and then adding loose powder on top of that basically equals crusty eye area. I love watching MUA stuff and they seem to do it no problem but I look terrible.

I made banana bread last night and forgot to take it out of the oven. Is that what you mean?

DH saved it.

Huh, it's time we started speaking of our wrinkles proudly, like they're war wounds or something, and should be FEARED!!!

YABVU and ageist.

I'm 48 and can still rustle up a decent Victoria Sponge or some Cup Cakes.

Also - hint on using Preparation-H on eye bags - they go saggy again once you stop, and possibly even worse than before (friend tried it)

Why would you smear pile cream on your face? Shock

try touche eclat.
but you don't see to have any bags. maybe you are creating them by piling on too much powdery make up.....

No idea why it's called baking, it should be called plastering, to be more precise.

And yes, of course it cracks as soon as you've taken the insta selfie. It's not meant to last beyond that.

In baking news, I just bought a baking book. Had good reviews.

I think you should stop trying to bake and consider some of the tips given by this MUA:

Me too as in cakes. Wtaf are you talking about?

I thought it was going to be that weight state on too easily after 35, so baking cakes was a bad idea...

I honestly could weep for the hours women spend thinking that their faces aren’t good enough.

For real eye bags you should use a pink-toned concealer - definitely not yellow! The reason for this is that eye bags are generally purple-y or blue-y, so adding yellow on top makes grey-green. If you add pink it should neutralise the bags.

As a PP MUA says, use a primer, and don't overdo the powder.

Oh can you get the flour now? I like baking but I haven't contemplated any proper baking for weeks cos I wanted to save my flour in case I need to make a white sauce or something.

(Make up stuff went right over my head - 58 and never really learnt how to do it properly)

Thick, heavy make-up in this warm weather, with a face mask? Bad idea.

Definitely go for a less is more route.

Ha ha, I feel really old.

Of course people over 35 can bake a cake or bread.

Whether they can cover their bags under the eyes 🤷‍♀️, maybe try applying cake Grin.

Try a colour corrector, the Becca one is fab then a dot of concealer on the inner and outer corner. Dusting of powder and that's all you need

Ugh. Loads of the faddy make-up techniques being touted online look bloody awful in real life.

There's a real art to doing make-up for everyday life, and it doesn't involve piling on as many layers as your skin can physically hold 😅

While we're at at, why the holy hell do women line their lips waaaaay outside their lip line?! It might work in photoshopped online pics but it looks stupid in real life. Drawing lips on and filling them in beyond your lip line doesn't give you voluptuous lips in real life - you look like Ronald Fucking McDonald.

I have issues. Ignore me 😅

Baking is ridiculous Instagram fakeness. Please don't waste your life thinking/worrying about crap like this. Just wack on a bit of mascara and go for it!

I had to google this. It looks like a ridiculous amount of makeup. I bet that looks shit in natural light.
Ive found as I get older, makeup sits differently and foundation and concealer can actually be more aging

Never EVER bake .
Especially not under your eyes if you’re upwards of 23 and not under a ring light recording

I’m 39, I find I good way to help set under eye concealer without it caking or making me look haggard is to use a good moisturising oil (I used the ordinary marula oil ) before priming.
Also use a tiny bit (half a drop on back of hand, pat it out and pat sponge on it it pick it up) on the beauty blender when blending out concealer and minimal powder (make sure you knock excess off)
Also if you find you apply setting spray it’ll help

The best full coverage concealer I’ve found is the jouler full coverage concealer

Hope this has helped?

Your friends and family sound really lovely, but they are lying to you if that's what they are telling you.
**@BarbaraofSeville yes plesse , if you can bear to oart with the recipe. millie's cookies are ace.
Also, to anyone that might know -- what are 'tear trough fillers'??
Sounds really painful.
Thank you for asking, I was too scared to. Do we all have tear troughs or do you have to have had led a very sad life with lots of torrential weeping? I mean I have had a sad life but I don't think I have troughs. Sounds like what happens when dogs piss in the snow........ Tears burning a channel down your cheeks.

Shudders, reaches for sunglasses.

Another one disappointed that this isn't about cakes. I have no idea what you're talking about though as I don't wear any makeup!

I came to suggest goss mua but seen he has already been suggested. He has great videos for all ages. Baking doesn’t work unless your 21 or a drag queen.
