I saw it for the first time on Disney plus, and have now fallen in love with the music. It's one of my favourite musicals now.

@HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime I love in that spokeN word when he says Alexander Hamilton and everyone just bursts out laughing. They didn’t know what greatness was coming!

An itemised list of 30 years of disagreements.... SWEET JESUS

I have never agreed with Jefferson once. We fought on like, 75 different fronts

But when all is said all is done

Jefferson has beliefs

Burr has none!

I wrote my way out, wrote everything down far as I could see...

RAOK · 29/07/2020 23:41

I love the songs and listen to them often.

PerkingFaintly · 29/07/2020 23:47

Ooh, thank you HP. Just found the first of the songs at the White House:

This is the thread I needed.

I’m new to the Hamilton love too - but watched it 3 times in the first week it was released on Disney+ as I just loved it! Thankfully DH did too (even though I kind of wished he didn’t when we were shopping recently and he kept singing the dah-dah’s of King George in my ear!). Off to watch the YouTube links shared earlier now

Thank goodness it's not just me. I've had the king's song and the Schuyler sisters going on a loop tape in my head for 3 weeks now....

I'm surprised noone else has admitted to announcing 'how does the bastard, orphan son of a whore' etc randomly during a lull in conversation, is that one just me?

PurpleFlower1983 · 30/07/2020 05:22

I’ve been like it for about 3 years 😂

PurpleFlower1983 · 30/07/2020 05:23

@Wtfdidwedo Yeah that’s me! Good job my husband knows it as well as I do!

PurpleFlower1983 · 30/07/2020 05:24

My mind was blown the other day though when I realised King George and Kristoff from Frozen are played by the same actor.

PetitsGateaux · 30/07/2020 09:58

Also love HERCULES MULLIGAN! In Yorktown...

ShebaShimmyShake · 30/07/2020 10:47

I cannot help but get totally pumped when I hear the Hercules Mulligan rap.

Jeez, most of you guys are a bit late to the party aren’t you?!?

And FYI it’s cast recording, not soundtrack …

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 30/07/2020 14:06

Someone piss on your chips @notmyyacht?

The stage recording has only just been added to Disney+ which is bound to bring a lot more fans to the party.

Extracurricularfatigue · 30/07/2020 14:23

We watched it the first night it was available as I'd heard so much about it, for so long. I had heard the King George song on the radio before and it was really catchy.

We really enjoyed it, but I can't say I could remember a single song afterwards, other than that King George song! I know I missed a lot though as we went along as everything was so fast, so I would watch it again at some point, and maybe things would stick that time.

At least we were enjoying the party Hmm

chellochello · 30/07/2020 14:28

So glad to hear this isn't just me!

I listened to the soundtrack around the beginning of lockdown and have had it on repeat pretty much ever since - I've now also watched it on Disney + about 10 times - I wake every day with one of the songs spinning around my head

a) Why do you assume everyone on this thread is new to it?

b) What's wrong with being new to it? Have you discovered everything?

theluckiest · 30/07/2020 14:46

Hate to break this to you @blubberball but yes, you will have Hamilton in your head FOR THE REST OF TIME...Grin

I'm so happy that the show recording was shown on Disney+. After 4 years of fangirling, was going to finally treat myself to tickets this year and was gutted when the theatres had to close.

Have watched it 3 times already. Oh, OK maybe 4. Could be 5.

My teen DSs just roll their eyes. Missing a trick as
CALL ME SON ONE MORE TIME!!! would be a great comeback...Grin

theluckiest · 30/07/2020 14:49

To be honest, I'm a bit tempted...
