I saw it for the first time on Disney plus, and have now fallen in love with the music. It's one of my favourite musicals now.

Yanbu OP. DD got me into it a few years ago now and we went to watch it on the west end. It's AMAZING.

My favourite is burr singing Wait for it. The lyrics pop into my head on a daily basis, numerous times.

iklboo · 29/07/2020 18:27

It's amazing. Leslie Odom Jr (Burr) is mesmerising. And Daveed Diggs is so wonderfully joyous in both roles. We want to watch it again with DS. His friend does drama and loves it so shouldn't be too hard to persuade DS (who loves a good musical anyway).

I've found my people. I am obsessed, My little girl can rap Lafayette's introduction Oui Oui mon ami :)

I'm doing couch to 5k, so am only allowing myself to listen to Hamilton when I'm out running - I've never been so committed to exercise!

Thorilicious · 29/07/2020 19:42

Rewind was brilliant to watch, can't imagine how confusing that was to choreograph and learn. The hurricane scene is amazing too!

TheFlis12345 · 29/07/2020 19:47

Only weeks? I have had it in my head for over 4 years now since I first heard of it. You’re in the room where it happens for the long haul I’m afraid! Grin

Still1nLove · 29/07/2020 19:58

YANBU, my 12yo got the soundtrack and show tickets for Christmas 2018 (lucky girl). I’d never heard of it, but it is fantastic! We regularly listen to the cd in the car and she now watches it a couple of times a week on Disney +

DrManhattan · 29/07/2020 20:00

I have really tried but I just cannot get into it. I couldn't wait for it to end.

BilboBercow · 29/07/2020 20:04

I've literally been just living my life while thinking "Alexander Hamilton... my name is Alexandra Hamilton" since last week

longhaulstress · 29/07/2020 20:05

Yanbu at all!

me and the older kids often announce our way in to a room by singing 1776 and waiting for someone to reply 'new York city'
The younger one asks for the dah de dah dah song in the car.

blubberball · 29/07/2020 20:39

I'm a bit late to the party, as I only saw it/heard it for the first time this month.

Oh god yes! Everyday I wake with a new song from the soundtrack stuck in my head. Today it’s ‘helpless’

GreyGardens88 · 29/07/2020 20:45

I've only made it half way through the film, paused at the interval 2 weeks ago and not felt the desire to watch the rest

Tunnocksmallow · 29/07/2020 20:45

I keep pointing at the poor dog and shouting ‘Alexander Hamilton’ he just looks at me likeHmm

yelyah22 · 29/07/2020 21:11

If anyone hasn't heard it, the first version of Burn is way better (in my opinion) and they recorded a version of it with various Eliza actors from different productions around the world:

So good. Much angrier than the one that ended up in the show

Boulshired · 29/07/2020 21:34

The London version of burn was angry but I do prefer Philippa Soo’s version. It’s more at the end of the cycle when the anger has passed and acceptance is all that is left.

Elledouble · 29/07/2020 22:08

Jesus Christ, this should be fun

@LouiseTrees

I can’t believe no one has mentioned “ I’m just like my country, I’m young snappy and hungry and I’m not throwing away my shot”. The irony that he did indeed throw his shot literally away at the end is not lost on me.

Scrappy.

LouiseTrees · 29/07/2020 22:18

Indeed scrappy not snappy ... did not see the error prior to posting
