Spoiler: I was Sad

It was meant to look like the photos. Same colour and everything. I even used testers.

It doesn’t. It looks like we had some paint left from decorating a pre-teen’s bedroom and didn’t want it to go to waste 🤦‍♀️

Can you post a pic of your hallway? What's wrong with the colour? Too bright?

Aquamarine1029 · 23/07/2020 18:34

The colour in the pictures you posted is a lovely shade, imo.

WisestIsShe · 23/07/2020 18:38

I agree with pp, colour in the photo is lovely.

GlamGiraffe · 23/07/2020 18:43

It really doesnt look tween coloured.
The image in the picture you are comparing it uo is a lot more broken ip with very large objects, oversized furniture, picture and plants, that's the difference. Yours looks like a Victorian height room(?) With muchch larger unintertupted wall expanses and smallish furniture hence the difference. Get a couple of really big plants in pots from IKEA, maybe standvond on a stool and a large artwork in quiet colours for the empty wall to break up the expanse if you want it yo look more like the image. You can try adding dome lamps with the old fashioned bulbs with a visible element in as they give a warm toned glow which us softening to. What is st your window? It's a really bright room. That colour you will find can change a lot depending in the light inside and that us coming in.
If you really like the image you just gave to create the rom a bit more but it doesnt look left over paint .

FelicityBeedle · 23/07/2020 18:44

Even in the pictures it looks a bit like bare plaster to my eye. Just chalk it up to experience. Probably won’t be a massive pain to paint over fortunately

GlamGiraffe · 23/07/2020 18:46

I'd consider something darker on the floor yo ground the room yoo, your floirzsbd walls are all light and I get the impression you are trying to create a more cosy look.
Dont be afraid of big things they can look really good too, like huge plants . I think you just arent there yet.

HolyForkinShirt · 23/07/2020 18:50

I think we need a photo of the end result op !

The colour in the photos looks lovely.

TrickyKid · 23/07/2020 18:53

I love that pink in your pictures. I want to paint our living room that colour.

EinsteinaGogo · 23/07/2020 19:01

Picture,picture, picture PLEASE!

AtrociousCircumstance · 23/07/2020 19:03

I love the colour of bare plaster! Which paint is it in the pictures please?

Oh and yes we need a photo of your hallway to see if it is princess bubblegum Grin

Ohtherewearethen · 23/07/2020 19:05

Is Glamgiraffe seeing something we aren't?

thepeopleversuswork · 23/07/2020 19:05

In the two pictures you’ve posted it looks great 👍

FizzyPink · 23/07/2020 19:07

Can everyone else see a photo of OP’s hallway I can’t?

gabsdot45 · 23/07/2020 19:07

To me The colour looks the same in both pictures.
It's lovely.

Splitsunrise · 23/07/2020 19:08

I’m confused, have you posted photos of what yours actually looks like?

ShirleyPhallus · 23/07/2020 19:08

Pretty sure the OP hasn’t posted any photos of her actual hallway, just the aspirational ones she’s seen on pintrest or something?!

Bella444 · 23/07/2020 19:08

As above!

Hiccupiscal · 23/07/2020 19:08

Is the photos you posted of your hallway?
Or what its supposed to look like?

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 23/07/2020 19:09

We need pictures

BarbedBloom · 23/07/2020 19:09

Can we see the hallway? It could well be lighting as well, colours can look very different, especially if the hallway doesn't get much natural light. It may also need to be broken up a bit more.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 23/07/2020 19:10

I think the pictures are what it was supposed to look like - not the actual result.

I feel for you, OP. My mother once painted our kitchen ceiling what was supposed to be ‘buttermilk’. The end result was more like when you spill takeaway curry on the worktop and it won’t come off no matter what you do.

Flamingolingo · 23/07/2020 19:11

I voted YABU only because I’ve spent months and £££ trying to remove various shades of pink from this house

Davros · 23/07/2020 19:13

Let's see then

AllTheCakes · 23/07/2020 19:13

We need a picture of the Princess Pink hallway to judge!

Rose789 · 23/07/2020 19:14

We need pictures please
