to have painted the hallway pink?

Spoiler: I was Sad

It was meant to look like the photos. Same colour and everything. I even used testers.

It doesn’t. It looks like we had some paint left from decorating a pre-teen’s bedroom and didn’t want it to go to waste 🤦‍♀️

I think it's nice but I feel your pain my hall and stairs is meant to be mauve it turned out Parma violet I'm used to it now but was so disappointed.

VaggieMight · 23/07/2020 19:17

Picture please

MashedPotatoBrainz · 23/07/2020 19:21

I did this. Found a picture with a similar colour to the pics you've linked. Matched it to a colour card in the shop. Looked exactly the same. Bought the paint and left the decorator to crack on. Came home to find my living was bright purple. It was really expensive paint too so we're stuck with it.

karmasic · 23/07/2020 19:23

I painted my hall way the colour of mostly dry plaster, I love it.
But if you are hoping your house will look like insta or pininerest photos, your are always gonna be disappointed!

AlphaDalpha · 23/07/2020 19:23

What paint and colour did you use?

I'm about to paint a room in F&B Calamine which is very pink and a leap of faith!

Mamette · 23/07/2020 19:24

I had a pink kitchen in the last house. I miss it, it always made me happy. It was Little Green Dorchester pink.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 23/07/2020 19:27

Yes, we need a photo!

But even with the example ones - nice though they are - I can see how it would look a lot more full-on pink if there was less light coming in.

Housecar · 23/07/2020 19:34

What colour is this please? I’m also painting my hallway pink. Have tried f&b sulking room which is too dark and dulux satin bow which is too ‘pink’

PerpetuallyUnderwhelmed · 23/07/2020 19:36

@AlphaDalpha - we have a bedroom in calamine and its not very pink at all! Extremely subtle imo.

PerpetuallyUnderwhelmed · 23/07/2020 19:37

I love sulking room but it is very dark!

ShinyRuby · 23/07/2020 19:37

I painted the hall, stairs & landing pink in my first house & I loved it. Still miss it a bit. I'm sure it looks lovely, probably just takes a bit of getting used to.

bluebluezoo · 23/07/2020 19:38

I painted my living room that exact colour about 6 months ago, by accident!

As it went on I was thinking it was a bit pink toned, not my intention at all. Wasn’t sure at first but like it now, it’s very calm.

I think it was b&q own brand.

RyanBergarasTeeth · 23/07/2020 19:39

Cant possibly tell what it looks like without a picture. What is wrong with it? Too bright?

ThePinkness · 23/07/2020 19:46

I can't get a good pic right now, it's getting dark here (not in UK), but will post one in the morning. It's not like tragic bubblegum pink, but i was hoping for a bit more of a tea rose colour and it's more princess than that IMO.

Yes the two photos above are ones I found online. In my defence though, I only found them just now when wanting to show photos of what the paint might look like. I chose the colour itself based on those little cards from the hardware store and then from a paint sample.

This is the paint for those who asked. It's made by Dulux in the UK, but I can't for the life of me figure out which Dulux colour it is. Perhaps they have different ranges in different countries.

It looks like dusted fondant

Bargebill19 · 23/07/2020 19:57

Looks ok to me.

mizu · 23/07/2020 19:59

We have just painted our hall way in calamine from F&B and I love it.

Mamette · 23/07/2020 19:59

That looks quite dusky. It’s nice.

Mamette · 23/07/2020 20:00

How many coats did you put? You might need another coat to get a truer colour.

I've just popped another one on now. Fingers crossed for the morning!

I like the pics you posted, I suppose we can't comment to we see your pics of it in the morning

Bobbiepin · 23/07/2020 21:24

Following only to see your princess hallway. Lean in to it, put some unicorn decal up too.

DD would LOVE that, she's prime unicorn age!

I’ve just done our bathroom in Calamine & it’s gorgeous, very grown-up pink. Even DH, who looked very worried when I told him my plans, thinks it looks good.
