Spoiler: I was Sad

It was meant to look like the photos. Same colour and everything. I even used testers.

It doesn’t. It looks like we had some paint left from decorating a pre-teen’s bedroom and didn’t want it to go to waste 🤦‍♀️

OP, what colour was underneath before you painted? Because with just one coat that may be causing it to look darker/princessier. If you really hate it after the second coat dries, then two coats of magnolia will cover most colours underneath, much better than white does (trust me on this, previous woman who had this house had VERY strong colours in every room). From the pics you've posted, the intended colour looks lovely though!

I've just painted my hallway in Ballerina Dance by Dulux which is a bit more candy pink than I thought it would be but I'm just going to live with it and call it funky Grin

I had no idea pink hallways were a trend though, I thought I was being all different, sigh Grin

I’ve got a peach wall I hated after one coat but love after two.

PawPawNoodle · 23/07/2020 22:26

It would make me feel like I was descending through the birth canal every time I moved rooms.

MsEllany · 23/07/2020 22:27

I am totally pinching that and going for a pink hallway and a rainbow privacy screen for the light about the window (like a Pollyanna crystal thing).

chunkyrun · 23/07/2020 22:29

It's a lovely colour hopefully second layer will bring it out

Bebbanburger · 23/07/2020 22:32

We are just about to do our living room F&B setting plaster. I'm all in favour of pink

Batfinklestein · 23/07/2020 22:36

I am the proud owner of a pink hallway!
I love it. Ours is a bit more subtle. We used Jasmine shimmer by Dulux, so you could try that if this colour still looks too much when it’s dried.

Tillygetsit · 23/07/2020 22:59

I'm not allowed pink anywhere. Dh claims it gives him a headache. Stamps foot. That colour looks gorgeous.

StCharlotte · 23/07/2020 23:35

That's a nice colour OP.

We had business acquaintances who were stinking rich and were on Sunday lunch terms with Royalty. They invited us a Christmas drinks party.

I was beyond excited because (a) I was desperate to see inside their house and (b) because it was feasible that Royalty might be there (they weren't Angry).

Anyway. They opened the door and I actually stepped back in shock. The hallway was the most hideous shade of bright pink and the rest of the decor was the sort of thing we laugh at on Rightmove.

I shudder at the memory.

AuntieDolly · 31/07/2020 21:09

Did we ever get to see it finished?

MitziK · 31/07/2020 21:19

I had a sugared almond pink kitchen in my last flat.

It looked lovely and not at all childlike.

Don't forget that you need the extra grown up things like plants, dark wood furniture/floor, oyster or dark green toned furnishings, etc, for pink to look grown up - before they're added, it's very easy to think 'child's bedroom'.

Ladybirdbookworm · 31/07/2020 23:13

Im feeling your pain..Ive just had a decorator in to paint my kitchen pink and it's bloody awful
