DH is definitely being U. Chocolate must be eaten at room temperature, its the law.

GreenTulips · 19/07/2020 15:39

Fridge

I don’t want warm chocolate left on shelves so don’t buy it in the summer heat

EatsShootsAndRuns · 19/07/2020 15:39

Better from the fridge, especially in summer.

Soubriquet · 19/07/2020 15:40

Room temp yes

But I also don’t like it when there’s a heat wave and the chocolate starts to melt

So I stick it in the freezer for 5 mins and it’s perfect

Saying that...I dunk it in a cup of tea Blush

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 19/07/2020 15:41

Twixs are best cold from the fridge dipped in my cup of tea!

jay55 · 19/07/2020 15:42

When chocolate was nice and hadn't been infected with palm oil it was lovely at room temp, now it needs the fridge. Unless it's fancy pants great choc.

Oysterbabe · 19/07/2020 15:44

Yes room temperature is better. It's to do with the way the fats melt and coat your tongue, intensifying the flavour.
My DH eats it from the fridge. Seeing as he smashes it down like a labrador it probably doesn't make any difference.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 19/07/2020 15:45

It depends on the chocolate. Some is better cold. (not helpful answer)

vikingwife · 19/07/2020 15:45

Fridge, always.

Mumoblue · 19/07/2020 15:46

Chocolate is chocolate. I prefer it from the fridge but it's perfectly acceptable room temperature.
I just like the snap of cold chocolate.

Morgana7 · 19/07/2020 15:47

Always room temp! My DP used to keep his in the fridge but I’ve since taught him the correct way Grin I went to a very famous chocolatiers in London last year and they said chocolate should never be stored in the fridge as it alters the flavour and causes blooming.

Loveinatimeofcovid · 19/07/2020 15:47

It depends on the type of chocolate.

barbrahunter · 19/07/2020 15:47

Fridge every time for me

Leolion09 · 19/07/2020 15:48

I prefer it from the fridge

barbrahunter · 19/07/2020 15:48

...sometimes it never makes it as far as the fridge when I bring the shopping in.

SaucyTrout2k · 19/07/2020 15:48

Definitely has to be room temperature or warmer.

Shesingsshangrila · 19/07/2020 15:49

Room temperature for me. DH likes it from the fridge. We have to split any shared chocolate so he can put his share in the fridge...

FedUpWithCovid · 19/07/2020 15:51

Depends on air temp. On really really hot days I'm not keen when it goes soft out of the fridge. Most of the year room temp rules.

june2007 · 19/07/2020 15:51

Pretty sure when hearing from chocoletiers it should be room temp. Putting it in the frisge makes it go a funny colour.

stargirl1701 · 19/07/2020 15:51

Fridge, cold.

SquirrelFan · 19/07/2020 16:19

Room temperature, always! From the fridge would make it hard and un-delicious. We have a pretty cold house, though, even in summer - have never had the melting problem.

C152H · 19/07/2020 16:25

I'm with your DH - choc should be eaten cold, from the fridge!

Mummyshark2018 · 19/07/2020 16:28

From the fridge.

ChessieFL · 19/07/2020 16:30

Are you me?! I’m always having to rescue my chocolate from the fridge where DH has ‘kindly’ put it!

Brefugee · 19/07/2020 16:30

there are 3 things that should be served at room temperature: red wine, chocolate and cheese Grin
