YABVU Shock
Chocolate should be consumed straight from the fridge!
My DH however would agree with you....but I eat far more chocolate so I win! Lol.

ChaoticCatling · 19/07/2020 19:56

I can have it either way if it's 85% cocoa or above, as long as it's still cool in the kitchen. If the butter needs to be in the fridge then so does the chocolate. Any other dark chocolate needs to be in the fridge or it tastes too sweet. Milk chocolate such as Galaxy or Minstrals in the freezer.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 19/07/2020 21:42

Fridge every time!

Holothane · 19/07/2020 21:48

MrsSnitchnose · 19/07/2020 21:54

LTB Site irreconcilable differences on the divorce papers Grin

Chocolate has no business being anywhere near the fridge. DS would disagree

Nottherealslimshady · 19/07/2020 21:55

Fridge. DH has his in the freezer!

Kalifa · 19/07/2020 21:56

From fridge. The crunchiness just enhances the experience.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 19/07/2020 21:57

Milk Chocolate - Fridge
Plain Chocolate - room temperature
White Chocolate - spawn of the devil not OK at any temperature

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 19/07/2020 21:58

I'm usually not a fan of Toblerone but last year I had it at a warm temperature rather than cold/solid. Completely different, the honey and other flavours came through much more.

Much may depend on the confectionery item and the type of chocolate involved.

ilovepixie · 19/07/2020 22:06

I love chocolate when it's ever so slightly melting and soft.

copperoliver · 19/07/2020 23:22

I love mine cold from the fridge.
Sometimes I even put a Turkish delight in the freezer for an hour so the chocolate snaps. X

Lemonmaid · 19/07/2020 23:24

At room temperature, or in front of air vents up warm in the car Grin

caramelbun · 19/07/2020 23:29

Fridge. I like it cold and crunchy!

nocoolnamesleft · 19/07/2020 23:38

Room temp, so that the temperature in your mouth melts it.

CatRamsey · 19/07/2020 23:38

Melted after being dipped in coffee

Calmandsteady · 20/07/2020 00:00

Fridge

LilQueenie · 20/07/2020 00:01

room temp. I feel like I'm cracking a tooth othewise.

fatbottomedgirl100 · 20/07/2020 00:04

@Morgana7

Always room temp! My DP used to keep his in the fridge but I’ve since taught him the correct way Grin I went to a very famous chocolatiers in London last year and they said chocolate should never be stored in the fridge as it alters the flavour and causes blooming.
Exactly this. The “bloom” looks a bit like mold, a thin white layer on top of the chocolate. It’s harmless but does change the flavour (for the worse).
Happynow001 · 20/07/2020 06:08

Stored in the fridge (I don't like to run out so have a lot) but I take out what I know I'll eat and leave it to come to room temperature before I enjoy it. 😋

squeekums · 20/07/2020 10:00

Well this is a loaded question
Flakes should be eaten from the fridge, cold year round, they flake better
Standard block chocolate or bars, room temp in cooler months
Come summer, all chocolate stays in fridge till wanted
Chocolate with a filling, like Turkish delight, milky ways or twix must come to a full room temp so inside is gooey
Standard blocks, only need a moment to take that fridge chill off

There has been much research on this matter
