To get really irritated with certain emojis

First world problem and that. But for some reason I get really irritated with some emojis! The monkey with its hands over its eyes: usually used when someone has done something a bit daft. The shrugging woman and the thinking face; just so passive aggressive!

I hate the use of emojis as well. Especially that stupid monkey with hands over its eyes!!

Also the over use of LOL gets my goat.

For example - "I went to the shop and got blue milk instead of green lol!"

"Doing laundry lol!"

"see you soon lol"

Make me want to punch myself in the face.

aren't the monkeys see no evil etc? or have I made it up?

I think as texts can be misconstrued, an emoji can help lighten the tone at times.

I really hate the laughing emoji for some reason, it's often over used on social media when people get into debates and rows and I just think it's so rude and condescending.

what annoys me about emojis is that there are tons of them but then sometimes I can't find one that I actually need!

I generally like the MN emoticons better than emojis. Nothing quite matches up to and .

Re 'lol' () - I've been noticing a spate of "hahas" being used in a similar way. Very annoying, they should be ditched.

I think they can add meaning.

Is there a sad face but not so sad you are crying?

Also think they need a better embarrassed/blushing one.

I hateeeee the tilted crying laughter face. Reminds me of teenage boys on the internet in the 2000s using "XD XD LOL" whenever they said something they thought was remotely funny. It makes me cringe now!

The salivating one is the worst I think. They really need to change the facial expressions on that one.
I agree with the over use of lol!

The ‘praying’ one is actually meant to be two different hands high fiving. So awkward when people comment high fives on posts about say..a missing person or sick kid.
The monkeys are used by thickos. The wide eyed worried one is an indicator of gormlessness, too. 🥺-that thing.

The crazy one ...... 🤪 reminds me of someone I know who thinks she really wacky and she uses it a lot

I have an irrational hatred for non MN emojis being used on MN. Other than that they all have a place.

Wonder if this is possibly a generational thing? Everyone I know uses emojis and no one has said lol in a long time - it’s all haha these days!

These are the emojis I use most often but I use them to display my own stupidity. 🤷‍♀️Is when I'm not entirely sure of my stance on something as I have never thought of it like that before and 🤦‍♀️is because, it's so fucking obvious and I'm a dick for not realising it sooner.

'LOL'....Oh well we can't all be pleased, can we? Suppose I'd rather have people using their emojis and getting on with their lives than the "non-passive aggressive" on their superior highground calling others thickos 'and that' for using them. 🤷🏻‍♀️
