To get really irritated with certain emojis

First world problem and that. But for some reason I get really irritated with some emojis! The monkey with its hands over its eyes: usually used when someone has done something a bit daft. The shrugging woman and the thinking face; just so passive aggressive!

The pray hands are hi fives I knew that,. I hate when they do prayer hands or love hearts on TV last years strictly was spoiled by prayer hand thank yous

MrsJayy - type in praying 🙏 and those hands appear! They don’t when you type 🖐 🙌 (that was high five).

Oh I thought the hand was hello and the double hand was enthusiasm hello see I'm rubbish. In real Life .double hand is how you sign applause.

The one I don't get is the little square of pink (or other skin type tone) - is it meant to indicate your ethnicity?? I find that kind if weird. Grateful for any explanation..

I don't think I've seen that. Maybe it's a non-standard emoji which isn't supported on your device and you're seeing the skin colour option applied to nothing?

Apparently the praying hands has the universal unicode name "person with folded hands" and is praying hands.

@betteliefsen that's clapping hands I think.

The praying hands (🙏) means “thank you” in lots of Asian countries

I use 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔 and 🤦🏻‍♀️ a lot. They are essential with teens/older children I find.

"Where are my air pods?" 🤷🏻‍♀️

"Why can't I find my hat?" 🤔

I dont like the shrugging woman, it's so rude and dismissive.

I originally hated them but now I struggle to send a message without one (that deserves a blush face!)

I with the was a hug emoji that isn't so happy, like a commiserations hug.

I like the lol one that's sideways, but not the usual one with level head, it seems sarcastic, like the shrugging one.

I use the “relieved laugh“ emoji far too often 😅 It’s not as over the top as 😂

I love emojis! I've only just got myself a smart-phone for the first time quite recently, so its all a novelty for me still. Plus I agree with others that they help prevent messages from being misconstrued. I used to have to write elaborately and somewhat excessively to make sure my meanings were not misunderstood. I love the simplicity now!
P.s. I know lots of highly intelligent people who have been known to use the monkey emoji on occasion

They show up with the weird flesh coloured thing on my phone too. And mine was not cheap. I think some apple emojis come up weirdly on android.

Thinking face and shrugging woman are probably my favourite and most used ones.
I am quite passive aggressive though.
