Neighbour's food delivery so early!!!

AIBU Neighbour- youngish with 3 small toddlers. They have food deliveries between 6am-7am. Recently their van has arrived between 6 and 6. 30am. Neighbours are not going out to work, no reason for needing an early delivery. I won't say anything but I still think it's a bit inconsiderate especially now when delivery slots are easier to get.

These ear plugs are wonderful, I've used them for ten years.

I can't get worked up about this when our bin lorries start at 6am and we are almost first on the run.

Maybe they don't keep good stocks of stuff and need breakfast items early or items early enough to make packed lunches before needing to leave (I've done both before and needed a super early slot)

What food delivery do they get at 6am that makes so much noise. I thought supermarket delivery didnt start till 9am?

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/07/2020 09:44

Iceland start at 6am

Iwantacookie · 09/07/2020 09:45

Asda do as well, and some Tesco stores.
kateybeth79 · 09/07/2020 09:49

I can only get late slots at the moment, very inconvenient but what can you do? 🤷🏼

GabsAlot · 09/07/2020 09:53

i dont get the no need for it to be so early

could be the only slot left
the only one they can afford
a flexi slot when you dont get to pick a time

if you hav a problem with it ask the store

NoProblem123 · 09/07/2020 10:01

Offer to pay £6 for a lunchtime delivery slot Grin

ReggieCat · 09/07/2020 10:04

I feel so sorry for the lass - she has to live next door to a fucking selfish twat!

If you want her to have a later delivery slot, perhaps you could pay the more expensvie delivery charge for her. Just a thought.

ThisismeT · 09/07/2020 10:09

They are cheaper. I was considering Ocado order for free at 11pm-12am. Otherwise it’s £7!

Nousernameforme · 09/07/2020 10:13

When everything's normal I get my shopping delivered on the earliest slot on a Monday. That way I start the week with a full kitchen. I have everything I need for breakfasts and pack ups if it came on the Sunday the bottomless pits that disguise themselves as my children would have picked over half of it in a fit of Sunday boredom.
People leave for work early people stay up late banging doors and cars going. It happens

Temp123999 · 09/07/2020 10:22

Yes they should ask you and the other neighbours when's convenient🙄

cushioncovers · 09/07/2020 10:23

The earliest food slots are cheaper. The toddlers are up at stupid O clock anyway so why not get it over and done with. It's only once a week isn't it?

cushioncovers · 09/07/2020 10:24

They've introduced earlier and later delivery slots to cope with the pandemic demand.

zingally · 09/07/2020 10:25

Oh, who cares OP.

Perhaps it was the only available slot.

The antisocial hours slots are cheaper... MAYBE no work and 3 kids means not a lot of money coming in!

Wind ya neck in.

snappycamper · 09/07/2020 10:27

Oh piss off. Delivery slots still like hens teeth here.

"but I still think it's a bit inconsiderate especially now when delivery slots are easier to get."

Delivery slots are not easier to get. I tried yesterday and all slots for the next two weeks were taken. If a 6.00 am slot had been available I'd have grabbed it, noisy or not.

MintyMabel · 09/07/2020 10:41

6am on a weekday isn’t antisocial

Most local by-laws would disagree with you there. 7am is a well established time before which noisy stuff can’t happen.

If an organisation is making deliveries before this time they should make an effort not to disturb neighbours. The neighbours aren’t doing anything wrong but the store should be advised there is a problem.

iffymiffy · 09/07/2020 10:44

We don’t hear our own delivery until they ring the doorbell.

doingitforthefrill · 09/07/2020 10:46

FFS should they consult you next time to see what time slot would be more convenient for you? Hmm

Unless you’re the one having to get out of bed and put all the shopping away at that time, then it’s got nothing to do with you what time they decide to get their shopping delivered!

buildingbridge · 09/07/2020 10:47

You obviously do not have a life. This would not concern me in the slightest.

canigooutyet · 09/07/2020 10:49

Are you my neighbour?

ritzbiscuits · 09/07/2020 10:51

Really? It's no more noisy than the milk man turning up or the bin route, that has been 6.15am for several years. Please don't say anything to them!
