Neighbour's food delivery so early!!!

AIBU Neighbour- youngish with 3 small toddlers. They have food deliveries between 6am-7am. Recently their van has arrived between 6 and 6. 30am. Neighbours are not going out to work, no reason for needing an early delivery. I won't say anything but I still think it's a bit inconsiderate especially now when delivery slots are easier to get.

If they have 3 small children it will be probably be the only time they can unpack the shopping in peace . I know I have to get my slot at a time where my children can’t run and grab everything. As it’s been said, you don’t know their situation and it’s really not that big of a problem

PrincessPain · 09/07/2020 08:03

I have a 1yo and 2yo.
I have mine in either the cheapest slot available, no matter what time that it.
Or with iceland, the first slot of the day. The boys are more chilled in the morning and means I can get it done and put away earlier.

My neighbours swear, shout and have drunken fights in the street at 1am. I don't really care if my food delivery disturbs them 🤷🏻‍♀️

KaptainKaveman · 09/07/2020 08:03

"It waked us up".

The correct use of the verb is "woke".

Is this a serious post?

Apolloanddaphne · 09/07/2020 08:07

I could not get worked up about this. Better a food shop delivery once a week for ten minutes than wild parties into the early hours every night.

pinkglove75318 · 09/07/2020 08:07

You're being ridiculous.

The early slots are around £2. Other slots can be as high as 7.50. (Tesco)

Slots in some areas are like gold dust. It could have been all they can get.

Maybe they needed the food for breakfast that day ?

NotGenerationAlpha · 09/07/2020 08:08

6am isn't early for a house with young children. Even for anyone needing to get up and commute to work. You need to get over this. It's not 4 or 5am.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 09/07/2020 08:08

YABU. People can choose whatever delivery slot is convenient for them, whether they work or not is irrelevant.

Rosebel · 09/07/2020 08:09

Can't get any home deliveries here. I can't believe the driver is that noisy. Especially as it's unlikely to be the same driver every week.
If it's that bad complain to the supermarket if you want but doubt it'll change anything or just buy some ear plugs.

LovingLen · 09/07/2020 08:10

Before I had delivery saver I used to get a flexi slot or the cheapest, they were often unsociable hours, the prime time slots can be very expensive

It must be exhausting being you.

You lack imagination / empathy to the extent that none of the following possibilities have occurred to you...

Cheaper slot as they're on a budget?

They start work (from home) early and can't exactly accept a delivery and put it all away in the fridge and freezer while on a zoom call to clients or colleagues?

Feeding a family is kind of a basic requirement and it was the only slot that was available?

blackcat86 · 09/07/2020 08:11

Amazing, what company are they using because those lazy bums at tesco dont start until 8am! I want to switch now! They can get food delivered whenever they like especially if they have young children. With trying to wipe down shopping, keep the DC away from bags and the driver etc, its probably much easier for them to get an early delivery. The world does not resolve around you and you wanting to sleep in. Get some ear plugs if it bothers you that much or move somewhere less family friendly where people arent up as early.

dottiedodah · 09/07/2020 08:13

Well my DC are older and asleep! I however seem to wake at about 5 /6 am! I could not get annoyed about this Im afraid.

NothingIsWrong · 09/07/2020 08:13

We get ours in that slot because its cheaper and allows us to get it all done and dusted before starting work from home. I can't interrupt work meetings to put it away so early it has to be

FuzzyPuffling · 09/07/2020 08:14

We're fortunate to get a priority slot ( thank goodness) but it means we get no choice as to what time it arrives. Honestly, if this is the worst thing that happens to you in the average week, you're laughing.

Deelish75 · 09/07/2020 08:14

Might be the only time they can get or the only time that is convenient for them. Times are strange at the moment, I've had to change our usual delivery time to fit in with my DC, it's not ideal for me or anyone else but needs must.

boredboredboredboredbored · 09/07/2020 08:14

My neighbours milkman disturbs next every morning, the bin men every Monday morning. Such is life, honestly it's not the biggest thing to be stressing over!

Livelovebehappy · 09/07/2020 08:14

And if you want to vent, you probably need to direct it at the supermarket rather than your neighbours, who are just taking up a service offered. Our bin men start at 6 in the morning, on our road, and the noise is often bad, but it’s once a fortnight, so I just suck it up.

bumblebeefairy · 09/07/2020 08:15

I agree with everyone else, you are being ridiculous with this. This is a normal and acceptable level of noise I think most people would agree (as above!), so if it bothers you, wear earplugs. Any issue you might have would surely be with the supermarket anyway, a supermarket delivery shouldn't be noisy at all.

ResumetonormalASAP · 09/07/2020 08:15

Oh dear OP try harder for something to get annoyed about.

SavoyCabbage · 09/07/2020 08:16

6am is a part of the normal day to me, especially in summer.

dogsdinnerlady · 09/07/2020 08:16

Its 'woke' not 'waked'.

pictish · 09/07/2020 08:16

What’s it got to do with you?
I’m not saying that to be chippy...I’m genuinely baffled as to why this should bother you.

LockdownLump · 09/07/2020 08:17

Yabu for saying they waked you up.

Also BU for moaning about an early deliver on e a week.
