Hands down for me are the ”if this was a man asking/doing/saying/bla bla”.....
all hell would apperently break loose.

What are yours?

(Oh and let’s vote on mine
yabu- you don’t mind these kind of posts
yanbu- you dislike these kind of post)

OP posts:
ChicCroissant · 06/07/2020 16:51

Anyone using mom is assumed to be American, even though it is also used in the UK.

IrmaFayLear · 06/07/2020 16:53

Likewise, “We want to move out of London but dh needs to commute to Canary Wharf - can you recommend a good area.” “Have you thought about Hebden Bridge, OP?”

Hingeandbracket · 06/07/2020 16:53

The ones about what fucking part of London to live in - arrrrghhhhh.

YonBonnieBanks · 06/07/2020 16:54

Trans posts. I am so sick of posts on this subject. I can see both sides but largely stay out of it.

derxa · 06/07/2020 17:13

Yes, because Scotland is a homogenous mass and every city, town and village is interchangeable Yes. Port Glasgow is exactly the same as Dornoch Hmm
And similarly 'Africa' which is portrayed as a country. Do you mean Egypt or Mali?

pictish · 06/07/2020 18:01

Bonnie I agree. It’s tedious, so tedious.

Gomezzz · 06/07/2020 18:07

Even though I broadly agree with radfem, GC views, the cliquey hive mind of the feminist board is almost enough to put me off feminism.

SquirmOfEels · 06/07/2020 18:16

The ones about what fucking part of London to live in - arrrrghhhhh

There's a London topic - meant to cover days out, where to live, schools etc

Pity it's not more used

SneakersandSocks · 06/07/2020 18:19

The Grammar Police

Those strange threads that ask things like ‘how much money do you have in savings’
‘How big is your house’
I never understand the point of them and it seems that all people want to do on them is boast.

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 06/07/2020 19:50

I hate "LO" - no reason, nothing I can articulate, I just hate it. Grin

bluebluezoo · 06/07/2020 21:10

I hate uneccesary “d”’s. It’s an abbreviation, if it makes the word longer or ridiculous leave it out...

Ddog, dpuppy, dpony etc..

Also posters who don’t clarify their abbv. And I spend far too long working out whether ds is son, sibling, sister, df is friend or father....

lyralalala · 06/07/2020 21:48

People who feel the need to be rude for the sake of it. Particularly if they act condescending to the OP for no real reason, especially about grammar

OP - "My DH and I brought I house a few months ago. Last week he beat me up so badly I spent days in hospital. I have multiple broken bones, I'm terrified, but all of my money is in our house. I also work for his business. I don't know what to do"

Twat reply - "I think you mean bought, not brought"
Or twattier reply - "You brought a house? Where did you bring it? I don't understand?"

Also people who don't understand abusive parents and bring up the "My Mum/Dad is dead so I'd love the chance to visit them in a hospice" when someone is asking what to do about an abusive parent they've not seen for years.

KatherineJaneway · 07/07/2020 16:11

Or twattier reply - "You brought a house? Where did you bring it? I don't understand?"

I saw one the other day do the 'I don't understand' routine just because someone used the word vagina. They looked an utter prat, we all knew what the original poster meant.

Llamazoom · 07/07/2020 17:12

@YonBonnieBanks yes. I am very interested in feminist issues but avoid the board because it’s nothing but trans and find posters get jumped on for having differing opinions.
It’s not welcoming at all. If it was a friendlier place I’m sure more MNetters would use it therefore educating more women like me who are interested.

Llamazoom · 07/07/2020 17:14

@SneakersandSocks boast or lie, who knows whichGrin

BanginChoons · 07/07/2020 17:19

The transphobic ones who don't think they are transphobic.

Thecazelets · 07/07/2020 17:29

I don't enjoy reading the long sagas which start 'I have two friends, we'll call them Claire and Susan'. Instantly makes me feel all rebellious and think 'Why will we?'

Or the ones which include the phrase 'fast forward', as in 'Fast forward 5 years. DH and I now have four dc under 5 but he's now saying he wants to retrain as a mime artist and experiment with an open marriage'.

Alsohuman · 07/07/2020 17:36

Fast forward
All fine
All good
Our little family
Family money

I could go in for ever. The worst though are the cod Latin phrases that sound like Harry Potter spells, make the poster feel so clever and superior and my eyes roll out of my head.

IcedPurple · 07/07/2020 20:05

Anyone else hate the MN fave 'We've lost sight of what a normal weight is'. Just me?

CeliaCanth · 07/07/2020 20:17

The unrepentant druggies. “Oh, I spent every weekend from age 18-25 off my face on (insert substance of choice) then went straight to my high octane job in the City on Monday morning. I’m now CEO of International Holdings (Holdings) PLC, have completed 25 Ironmans and have 6 healthy children. Never did me any harm.”

Meanwhile the rest of us are tired after a normal day’s work and a 3 mile jog round the block Confused

BlackSwan · 07/07/2020 20:18

Overlong posts. Which then apologise for being long.

NotVera · 07/07/2020 20:23

The 'read and run' thing irritates me, sorry. I know it comes from a nice place but it's so overdone.

Er, I tend to zone out of posts attached to really ''zany'' usernames. Like WackyWhitneysWigWamKnickerElasticTwang or whatever.

derxa · 07/07/2020 21:50

Fast forward All fine All good Our little family Family money
I hate these with a passion for some reason Also Why?

Wolfgirrl · 07/07/2020 22:14

There is a poster on MN, EVERY post from her is an anecdote ending with her own personal triumph, proving she was right all along... fucking unbearable, and it literally is every single post

DamnShesaSexyChick · 07/07/2020 22:22

Posters who are a perfectly normal height, such as 5’7, who say they are ‘skeletal’ if their weight goes below 11 stone.
