Would you eat this lobster?

The instructions say ‘don’t worry if there is a little bit of green on meat and shell it’s totally fine - it’s tomally’.

That’s just the meat from 1 scooped out - whole thing looked even worse. Who the hell would want to eat that?

DH has got the hump, as I said I couldn’t eat it, so tried washing it off and has now burnt the scallop starter, just to top it off!

Would you eat this lobster?

Forallyouknow · 03/07/2020 18:56

🤢 nope from me too

BobFleming · 03/07/2020 18:56

I don't eat the tomalley in lobsters anyway - so I would not fancy that.

Nottobesoldseparately · 03/07/2020 18:57

No.
It doesn't even look like lobster.

I know you shouldn't eat with your eyes but sometimes you just have to!!

Neves7 · 03/07/2020 18:57

What part of the lobster is that from?

melissasummerfield · 03/07/2020 18:57

Christ no Envy

DramaDromedary · 03/07/2020 18:58

What the fuck is that?! Never seen lobster like it. Definitely wouldn’t eat it.

BeeyatchPlease · 03/07/2020 18:58

I'm not precious at all and there's very few things I won't eat. However, I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole!

tealandteal · 03/07/2020 18:58

I just googled tomally and it didn't look like that?

Sparklybanana · 03/07/2020 19:00

The green is not usually over the whole lobster - the tail should be white! I wouldn’t.

Itsjustabitofbanter · 03/07/2020 19:01

Fuck no

Marshmallow91 · 03/07/2020 19:01

You couldn't pay me enough

YouDirtyMare · 03/07/2020 19:02

It looks off

Candyapple49 · 03/07/2020 19:03

No !

Forallyouknow · 03/07/2020 19:04

What does it smell like... out of interest.

WwMILd · 03/07/2020 19:07

It is what was scooped out from the shell.

I googled tomalley, and it says it’s from liver and pancreas - but didn’t find a pic as gross as mine.

Just ventured downstairs, he said the scallops were lovely (if a bit overdone). Has washed the meat off and shells, and is cooking the lobster in sauce now. I will post a pic of finished product (before I throw it away) Grin

Feel so bad, as he got it as a treat for us.

I was watching James Martin recently and he was doing something with lobster. His was a little bit green. I said to OH 'why is the lobster green?' It was as if James heard me (think I've been in lockdown too long 😬) because he said 'Don't worry that it's green!' His was nowhere near as green as that though 😦

WwMILd · 03/07/2020 19:08

Forallyouknow

It’s definitely fresh.

Graffitiqueen · 03/07/2020 19:11

This is rick stein isn't it. No I wouldn't eat that. It looks awful!

TheHighestSardine · 03/07/2020 19:25

Lobster tail is quite rich enough for me, I wouldn't touch the tomalley.
