get himself over to the States to account for his actions and to give evidence for those poor victims of abuse. He's a bloody disgrace.

"Different times"... so rape and human trafficking was ok? Was slavery also ok?

chaoticisatroll55 · 03/07/2020 22:12

Let's not ignore the fact that when 14 year old girls walk around they are routinely told by 50 year old men what stunners they are. This happens all the time. In this decade. My daughter (14) tells me that in one afternoon a group of them had this happen 4 times by older men.

I hope Ghislaine sings like a bloody canary.

I expect there are many, really prominent, people shaking in their shoes at the moment. I doubt Prince Andrew figures high up on the list but politicians, law makers and enforcers, captains of industry, academics, scientists.....phew, the list is endless.....will be worried.

GW may be worried she will have an accident. On the other hand, if she keeps schtum she may be looked after.

araiwa · 04/07/2020 04:20

I would presume he has diplomatic immunity or similar

No chance in hell the fbi will ever interview him

Also, Ghislaine didnt kill herself

Pixxie7 · 04/07/2020 04:32

I agree with pp if he hasn’t got anything to hide he would come forward. I also think the royal family should make an example of him to show that nobody is above the law. If he is innocent prove it.

avamiah · 04/07/2020 04:34

Let’s be honest here, What exactly is going to happen to him??
Nothing .

AlternativePerspective · 04/07/2020 04:48

On a different tack - I think the Americans getting on their high horse about this is a bit ironic given their stance on the woman who mowed down UK citizen Harry Dunn. Agree with this. Also, how are we to know that he’s the one who’s lying when he says he has offered to speak to the FBI and yet the FBI says he hasn’t. Let’s not pretend that the FBI are squeaky clean now. They’re perfectly capable of twisting a situation to their own ends.

I don’t particularly like him but calling someone a rapist purely based on the fact that there is speculation about what he did and didn’t do is way out of line. Epstine was friends with a lot of famous people. We don’t accuse them all of being rapists do we?

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/07/2020 05:05

AlternativePerspective
Hmmm. I’m not sure I believe the FBI when they refuted PA claims of offering to cooperate. Perhaps his calls were ignored. Or the narrative suits them.

I don’t think the queen is a paedophile rape apologist. She’s an elderly lady with a lot going on in her life, trying to hold things together with an idiot wayward son.

The Maitlis interview was a train smash. Arrogant snake. However, I also agree that he should not go due to the Harry Dunn situation.

WakeAndBake · 04/07/2020 05:07

Were Epstein and maxwell the only ones abusing the girls? That seems to be the slant from all the reporting...

You don’t hear so much about all the rich, famous and powerful people who flew on the jet and went to the island. Is that because we are meant to believe that all the trafficking was just for Jeffery? Bullshit.

Blackmail honeypot anyone?

missyoumuch · 04/07/2020 05:18

The fact that Anne Sacoolas is avoiding justice is completely irrelevant to Prince Andrew. A multi decade international sex trafficking ring is being uncovered, there are hundreds of victims. All of them should wait because of an unrelated case?

Seriously this is when anti Americans clouds people’s brains.

AlternativePerspective · 04/07/2020 05:27

Thing is we just don’t know and last time I checked people weren’t considered guilty by association. Where does that end? It’s ok to accuse other rich famous people of being guilty because they were friends with Epstine because we don’t know them. We don’t associate with those kinds of people i.e. in that class and therefor it’s not a case that it could be any of us standing accused.

But for other crimes, e.g. murder, paedophilia in the mainstream world, other crimes should it be ok to go after their friends just because they were friends?

Also, not to be pedantic, but the term paedophile is being wrongly used here. The last time I checked, the term paedophile refers to an attraction/abuse of pre pubescent girls, while what Epstine did was equally repugnant, it wasn’t paedophilia, and accusing the queen of being a paedophile apologist is entirely out of line.

AlternativePerspective · 04/07/2020 05:33

All of them should wait because of an unrelated case? you think the Americans would be cooperating if the roles were reversed and the ring had started in the UK with a say, US diplomat in the firing line?

DisobedientHamster · 04/07/2020 05:38

Hahaha. Nothing is going to happen to him. Hand himself over, yeah, I've just won the EuroMil jackpot, too. There's a greater chance of that happening than his engaging with anyone over all this. For real. Get a life. For that reason alone, YABU.

WakeAndBake · 04/07/2020 05:40

If it was a bloke from a council estate whose flat was known for years locally as paedophile island who drove around in a car nicknamed the Lolita express what would you think of the friends who came to stay for holidays with him?

Cailleach1 · 04/07/2020 05:46

Don't think the allegation against PA is of being guilty just by association. I think he is accused by Virginia Roberts Giuffre as allegedly being one of the men engaging in sex with her when she was in this sex traffic ring. He denied this in the interview with Emily Maitlis.

Cailleach1 · 04/07/2020 05:48

When Epstein was found dead in prison, it brought to mind the scene from 'The Wire' where the man was found dead in prison. The verdict was suicide, even though it was murder staged as such.

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/07/2020 06:03

missyoumuch
I get that. This has nothing to do with being anti American. PA is not being sought as anything more as a witness; at this stage at least. He can do that remotely. And very much should cooperate to the fullest. Much of the world is working remotely atm so I don’t see why he needs to go to the US right now. OTOH the US is protecting a woman, who committed manslaughter, claimed diplomatic immunity and ran.

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 04/07/2020 06:17

This. The Anne sacoolas situation is wrong. She should be tried in the UK.

I cannot believe that there are people who think that one person not facing justice should be used to get PA off the hook.

Toilenstripes · 04/07/2020 06:18

I think it’s unlikely he actually realised the girl was trafficked. That’s not a concept that many people deal with or would even consider in their everyday lives. He probably just thought she was traveling with his scummy friends. I still think he’s disgusting but I’m just not sure he realised the legal implications of his actions.

Cailleach1 · 04/07/2020 06:24

I think it is important to say Anne Sacoolas has not been convicted with committing manslaughter. I think she is charged with causing a death by dangerous driving.

chaoticisatroll55 · 04/07/2020 06:25

Yes because 16-17 year old girls routinely hang out with 50 year olds don't they? Nope!

OP posts:
Cailleach1 · 04/07/2020 06:29

We can't know whether it is likely or unlikely that PA knew the girls were trafficked.
