To think even on a hot night it's absurd to sleep with no covering?

Dh is snoring away, on top of the sheet we are using on the bed on this roasting night.

It's discombobulating. Clearly the man is a psychopath.

I'm a menopausal woman in Scotland. I sleep in my pants with a 1.5 tog duvet all year round. I'm not always under it. The window is always open.
My internal combustion system leaves me overheated most of the time 🙄😥

Animum2 · 26/06/2020 20:15

We have a duvet and whilst DH Swiss rolls himself into it even in hot weather, I can sleep without it

Animum2 · 26/06/2020 20:16
  • in the winter as well
Clockworkprincess · 26/06/2020 21:02

😂😂 I came home today to find dp starfished on top of the duvet naked (he works nights). I wear a vest and shorts for bed and start on top of the duvet until i get dozy then get under. Dp has kindly folded the duvet over so my side is just sheet so can pull the duvet over as needed

@seenbeensbean

The best thing for sleeping in hot weather is a large bed all to yourself Grin
Ooooooooh, yesssss. Absolutely. Has been amazing to sleep on my own in a big bed.

I'm calming down a bit now with the night sweats and hot flushes (although mum carried on with the hot flushes and night sweats for at least 20 years, eeek!).

But I usually use a 4 tog quilt in winter, and right now, nothing. I wear a crop top and PJ shorts to sleep in (can't go topless, boobs too big for that...)

Window is always open, how much depends on the weather. On sunny days, I leave my curtains shut to keep the sun out and the room as cool as possible. I get a lot of sun shining in from around lunchtime, so it can get hot in there.

DS, meanwhile, rolls himself up in a thin blanket, whatever the weather. His choice, I've offered other stuff but he refuses and says the blanket is comfortable. So I've bought a few to ensure he can keep fresh.

Tonight I will have a king sized bed to myself with freshly laundered line dried Egyptian cotton bed linen with a high thread count

I sleep with only a sheet all year round. 10 year menopause. I have two inquisitive teenage boys with special needs who love to see a bit of flesh and give a rude awakening. I’d love to believe we can sleep under a veil of the breath of cherubs but I’ve got to be mindful that life is too short for the number of questions it would raise.

However, I do love the feeling of a cotton sheet for a sense of comfort.

MulticolourMophead · 26/06/2020 21:30

I changed my bedding yesterday, and in this weather it's about every 5 days or so, although in winter I might go a couple of weeks before changing.

Trailing1 · 26/06/2020 21:31

I am also married to a man who thinks this is acceptable Grin

Decisiontomake · 26/06/2020 21:41

Currently using a blanket as it protects me from monsters in this heat!

EggysMom · 26/06/2020 21:47

I need something to cover me - a sheet, a duvet, just something. DH reckons it's too hot and tries to sleep on top of whatever I use. At some point in the night his body disagrees and he comes not only under the cover, but then steals it all from me and wraps it tightly around his body as though it's freezing.

I bought a 4tog duvet as a bit of a compromise. He reckons it's not 'heavy' enough on his body, so he's still wrapping himself in the 10tog. Weirdo.

By the way, I have evidence that the "foot out of the covers for temperature regulation" is nature not nurture. Our son has severe learning difficulties, and mastered the 'foot out of the cover' by age 4.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/06/2020 21:51

You can have my DH op, he had the dicey over him. Freak. Babies naked bar nappies in their cots, DS in nappy and vest in bed, me in pants in bed, none of us have covers.. DH is in the frigging duvet like it's October

DurhamDurham · 26/06/2020 21:54

I could never sleep with even an arm or leg sticking out. Monsters or serial killers would surely get me. They obviously leave me alone when I've a duvet to protect me.

DurhamDurham · 26/06/2020 21:56

I once woke up with my arm hanging over the side of the bed and was convinced I'd been seconds away from someone/something grabbing me from under the bed Shock

onlyherefortheguineapigs · 26/06/2020 22:01

I cannot do it. I have tried to sleep without wrapping myself in a duvet like a kind of human sausage roll, but even if it's 32 degrees, I cannot do it! I HAVE to have a duvet. It is weird but I just have to. So I end up tossing and turnign and roasting but if i try without then I get even less shut eye!

Monsters @ElizabethAlexandraMary MONSTERS!!!!

CherryPavlova · 26/06/2020 22:13

Too hot for anything. All windows open, chillow dragged out of storage. Windows open.

CMOTDibbler · 26/06/2020 22:14

I have to have something round my neck (obv so the vampires can't get me) but otherwise uncovered

Potatobug · 26/06/2020 22:17

I just use a thin summer blanket. It gives the illusion of a duvet yet keeps me cool.

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/06/2020 22:20

You need to be covered because of the monsters, everyone knows this.
My Boyfriend sleeps naked with no covers, its just all wrong, I need covers and pjs.

AnneElliott · 26/06/2020 22:29

What if the spiders come down and run over him! Covers are definitely required!

Lovely13 · 26/06/2020 22:34

I sleep alone. Which I like. But even in the heat, took my hot water bottle to bed. My back likes the comfort. Maybe it misses heat of a bloke. I don’t miss the snoring. And yes, always a covering. Feet out in the heatwave though.

nicslackey · 26/06/2020 22:41

I have my electric blanket on , only switched to 2 though
