Serin · 21/06/2020 00:34

Mary Seacole.
Now there's a role model. Smile

Bookoffacts · 21/06/2020 00:35

Florence is lovely
Hope is nice but can be counterproductive.
Vera is coming back into fashion.

Josette77 · 21/06/2020 00:36

My name is Hope.I like it.

ViciousJackdaw · 21/06/2020 00:36

@ECBC

What about Barnardette? Wink
Ooh, that IS pretty! How about Quarantina as a middle name?
OptimisticSix · 21/06/2020 00:36

My DD is Florence... Well actually she isn't but I call her it all the time because it always makes me think of flouncing and stroppiness and she does that... Still I actually like the name. And Hope. Vera Lynn - not so much Grin

Faraway20 · 21/06/2020 00:37

How about vaccinita? Or tumeter?

xmummy2princesx · 21/06/2020 00:40

@PyongyangKipperbang it’s awful🙄

malificent7 · 21/06/2020 00:47

I like them all but just Vera with no Lyn...what about Florence Vera Hope? Or Vera Hope Florence etc....

Ellmau · 21/06/2020 00:49

I rather like Hope.

malificent7 · 21/06/2020 00:50

I think im the only person in the world who likes Vera but then i have had a few drinks!

I love all old school names like Ada, Mabel, Valerie, Pamela etc.

MitziK · 21/06/2020 00:50

@Davros

Vera Lynn is rhyming slang for gin
Really? You must be from somewhere outside London (or much, much younger than me).

Got any Veras?

malificent7 · 21/06/2020 00:54

But then i nearly named dd Venus until i realised what it rhymed with!!

Casmama · 21/06/2020 00:54

I'm sorry but all these names seem really preformative.
Instead of thinking about yourself and your experience of this time and how your child's name reflects on you, perhaps consider them?
Hopefully this period will not even be an issue in their life so give them a name that you think will suit them and not embarrass them at any point in life.

ladybird69 · 21/06/2020 00:56

Love Florence it’s my nickname. I know a dear old lady called Vera but I think maybe in a few more years it’ll be more acceptable. But what about Verity Hope.?

947EliseChalotte · 21/06/2020 00:57

Not sure on rainbow but that's made me think of the name Indie (indigo) it's the name of Joe Wicks daughter too. Xx Someone also suggested Grace I like that too. Xx

Mummyshark2019 · 21/06/2020 01:01

fallon92 · 21/06/2020 01:01

Florence!

MrsMop1964 · 21/06/2020 01:04

Love the name Hope- it was the name of one of the characters in the eighties TV drama Thirysomething. Hope and Michael were my favourite couple.

unstableunicorn · 21/06/2020 01:12

I vote Florence out of the three, think it's maybe a little dated but lots of nicknames you could give (Flo, Flora, Florrie, Lori etc)
