Yes we can book hair appointments, nail appointments and banish the roots in a matter of weeks. We can shop today!! We are counting down the days to hotels, restaurants and bars opening. We are breaking out.

We have turned a corner in England people!!

The lockdown is ending at long last - so what are you doing today?

Margot misses point

Bluebellpainting · 15/06/2020 10:18

@Sandybval Thank you. Luckily no as he is a little older so didn’t have a new baby in lockdown. She used to come round every week though which she has missed. He was 4 months old when lockdown began so as you can imagine he has changed so much.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 15/06/2020 10:18

Likewise red

ArbitraryNameChange · 15/06/2020 10:19

Doing housework whilst still on furlough.

Have no desire to join queue after queue to get into a shop so it'll be long time before I can be arsed to go shopping

LaurieMarlow · 15/06/2020 10:19

I fundamentally fail to see what’s insensitive about getting excited to do something that’s perfectly, legal, inoffensive and now allowed under guidelines.

But looks like self flagellation is here to stay. It won’t make the virus go away bubbleup

However, buying shoes will help in the fight to save jobs.

bubbleup

I didn't actually. Yes it's totally different but I still think you are being an idiot. I'm not going to the shops but I think you being miserable.

TheStuffedPenguin · 15/06/2020 10:19

Was thinking about queuing up from dawn to buy cheap leggings at Primark ...on second thoughts maybe not Hmm

bubbleup · 15/06/2020 10:20

"You do realise that to stop people losing their jobs @bubbleup then the economic my has to open?"

Yes, of course. No shops have got "death rate SUPER low" plastered up there though.

I'll admit, it's the cringey use of "super" that got my hackles up Grin

That is a fabulous excuse to buy more shoes!

WendyHoused · 15/06/2020 10:20

Having ongoing arguments with the 14yo that no, she can’t hit the shops with her mates and go to McDonalds for lunch today.

We are still at Level 4, the risk hasn’t reduced yet. While a drive-thru Starbucks and dropping her at the park to hang out with her mates is fine, things are NOT back to normal. Finding a “cute” outfit for summer is going to have to wait.

@pigeon999. Your hope and optimism will be crushed on here. I've just wandered through my small town, not a queue to be seen, am planning on spending money this week on things I don't need because my town is mostly independents. Come join us on the positive threads, you'll find a very different vibe.

Sorry to everyone who has lost someone but I really can't wallow in grief for people I don't know.

HauntedGoatFart · 15/06/2020 10:21

If you read the thread properly or even the post from scarbados you might see that she is addressing another poster who had earlier pissed on her chips -she even addresses them by name. I’ve posted it below so you don't have to go to the effort of finding it. She was not addressing the OP. She was not telling the OP to fuck herself. Maybe you owe scarbados an apology for your comments.

Me, specifically. Which, incidentally, I stand by what I said. Muttering about the virus being "out there" is daft. Just about every virus there has ever been is "out there". Covid may always be "out there". Staying home until some mythic time it is "safe", which has never existed and never will, will do nothing but kill us all faster. I am at home today because I am working and that's where I work currently. I take no issue with anyone who is doing the same, obviously. Just those who are trying to shame everyone else into doing the same forever and being miserable to boot because joy in small things is outlawed.

Fortunately, in scarbados's opinion, I am fucking myself by going out and having fun. So I fully intend to put her instruction to fuck myself into action, and consider it a win-win.

bubbleup · 15/06/2020 10:22

Margot I'm not miserable. Having a great morning so far tbh Grin

I just can't stand the expressive "bully girl" language. And I won't start on the "Karen" comment. Seriously, sexist fucker Confused

skybluee · 15/06/2020 10:22

Only the OP isn't being insensitive. She's posting because she's excited, looking forward to something, and trying to be positive. We don't know her personal situation. In all honesty, the main person who sounds insensitive on here is you bubble. You don't sound like a nice person on this thread. What's wrong with people? Instead of reading something like this and thinking, OK, have a nice time, your first instinct is to criticise someone for posting something so benign? I'd take a long hard look at yourself and why it is you wanted to attack, if I was you...

You do realise @bubbleup that shops (like supermarkets) have social distancing and protective measures in place?

Hey @formerbabe

Yesterday you didn't want "lockdown to be lifted". Glad you've had a better night
