Yes we can book hair appointments, nail appointments and banish the roots in a matter of weeks. We can shop today!! We are counting down the days to hotels, restaurants and bars opening. We are breaking out.

We have turned a corner in England people!!

The lockdown is ending at long last - so what are you doing today?

I have booked a hairdresser for September. I don't colour my hair so it can wait for a bit longer

See!!!!

My school was in the arse end of nowhere, if I bunked off the only place to go was a field full of sheep. I have envy for those whose bunking off included chips and shopping.

Bloops · 15/06/2020 09:59

Enjoy your shopling OP! I actually have no money to spare right now because I'm wanting to move house so I havent even considered going shopping really.

MargotB7 · 15/06/2020 09:59

Have a lovely day OP.

I'm in the office and then have to clean my shit hole of a house as had a very lazy weekend.

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 15/06/2020 10:00

Had a run and working from home.

The only change is I now have the school run again as yr 1 child.

IntoTheUnknown27 · 15/06/2020 10:00

Have fun Smile, I'm shielding but would love a walk around town. I went for my first outdoor walk since March 4th yesterday! It was really weird!

bubbleup · 15/06/2020 10:00

What are you on about OP? You sound deranged.

You do know that people are really struggling in many ways after the past few months? You are completely insensitive.

Go shopping. You don't need to announce it. It's fucking Clarks. Get a grip

Madcatgirl · 15/06/2020 10:00

Staying at home and working.

TeeBee · 15/06/2020 10:01

Staying at home and working like I have been doing for months. I certainly won't be rushing out to the shops.

bibbitybobbitycats · 15/06/2020 10:01

I wouldn't go to the shops right now, only because I couldn't be arsed with the queuing (also, am in Wales so no shops to go to!). Enjoy yourself OP. Maybe report back on what it's like, I'm curious!

draughtycatflap · 15/06/2020 10:01

Apparently the government slogan ‘Stay Aware’ is to be replaced with ‘Shop Before You Drop’.

covidco · 15/06/2020 10:01

Going to work on a covid ward.

I really hope you are right OP but all evidence I've seen says the R is rising.

It's an upbeat thread, what the duck is the problem with that?

You sound deranged, do you never want anything to return to normal?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 15/06/2020 10:03

Oh god
This'll be the next thing
People like bubbleup
We can't be excited or happy about anything ever again can we if the dementors have their way
Does it ever cross their minds that some people have really struggled with their mental health through this and having some simple things like perish the thought buying a pair of shoes is joyful and exciting because it is so mundane and normal

bubbleup · 15/06/2020 10:03

"I'll go with the confidence the dementors are all at home then! Phew!"

What? Who said I'm at home? I just won't be rubbing it in people's faces when they have lost both parents, had socially distanced funerals and now are going to lose their job.

And I won't be skipping along talking about a "super low death rate" because I'm not an insensitive arsehole

Dumbie · 15/06/2020 10:03

Enjoy yourself OP.

I'm wfh with the children in childcare. That's a big enough treat for us :)

Exactly this.

LakieLady · 15/06/2020 10:05

Your town sounds like mine, @Purplewithred. We have a few chains (Jigsaw, Fat Face, Sea Salt, Crew, White Stuff, New Look) but we have lovely independents.

I have to go to a supermarket to get a few things that I couldn't get last week, and I'm looking forward to Supredrug being open so I can finally getting my hands on some O'Keefe's to stop myself from flaking away. If the queues aren't massive and parking isn't too much of a hassle, I'll pop into some of my favourite shops.

I desperately need jeans, so I hope to be able to get into White Stuff sometime soon.

Nousernameforme · 15/06/2020 10:05

Any word of opticians? Are they supposed to be open I need to get DS tested and can't get through here.

We have all had a difficult time these past three months. OP is taking joy out of something simple that we all took for granted before lockdown. What is insensitive about that?
LaurieMarlow · 15/06/2020 10:06

and now are going to lose their job.

People like the OP are taking practical measures to help secure people’s jobs.

What are you doing? Apart from misery?

Coffeeandteach · 15/06/2020 10:06

I'm glad places are starting to open and I love your positivity. I don't want businesses, especially small ones, to close for good.

It's definitely not over though. Weddings are still banned. Mine is meant to be on the 8th August and the government has gone back on what it said about allowing them in June and are completely ignoring the issue. They sneakily changed the 'Roadmap to recovery' document and changed the part about weddings.

So I would say it's starting to end but most definitely has not! Enjoy your day out. I might pop along to Costa and get a takeaway coffee.

Bluebellpainting · 15/06/2020 10:07

Seeing my mum and actually have someone other than me or DH, when he isn’t working away, hold my little boy. She lives alone but was working over the weekend so today is the first day she can bubble with us. Very excited for her to hold him- he is her first grandchild.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/06/2020 10:07

I'm in Scotland, so no shops here, and I'm working anyway. I'm a shopper-as-leisure-activity person, but I don't like the look of the photos I've seen on Twitter this morning. I also think the shopping experience is going to be so changed that it might not appeal when the shops do open here.

I am desperate for the hairdresser to open though!

MargotB7 · 15/06/2020 10:07

bubbleup

You sound deranged.

I won't be shopping yet but do you have to so twatty to the OP.
