All the joy will be gone - no leisurely browsing, no having a coffee. Won’t be going back to physical shops until restaurants and cafes are open again

No I won’t be because it would make me too anxious and I don’t need anything. I yearn for companionship and shops opening doesn’t resolve how difficult lockdown is IMO - a lonely anxious trip to a shop would make me feel worse I think (though I know they have to re-open).

I live in a small town, so even if everyone turned out at once, it still wouldn't be packed. I fully intend to pop into my favourite independent clothes shop and try and part with a big chunk of money. They sell really nice, well-made clothes and the lady who owns it is lovely. She will always tell you, in a very tactful way, if you look shite in something you're thinking of buying.

Then Jigsaw for a nosey, White Stuff (need jeans as I've dropped a size), into the independent shoe store where I've been a good customer for so long that they give me a discount, pop into Sea Salt to see if they have any dresses I fancy, all rounded off with a browse in Waterstones followed by a coffee outside a little Italian place that's open for take-aways, while I read my book.

It will be such a joy just to have somewhere different to go.

@Mawbags late to the party but Primark have said that setting up an online store, including running the webpage, staffing warehouses, paying for packaging and delivery etc would mean they'd have to raise their prices so much they'd no longer be the cheap high street brand they aim to be seen as. I've often wished they did online but then I might not even shop there as I wouldn't able to afford most of their things! So I can see why they don't.

I'd love a mooch round the shops but I don't think that's going to be the experience for a good long while. I'll be giving it a miss for now.
