To be following the guidance still?

everyone I have spoken to appears to be breaching the rules in some way, some apologetically, some not, some big, some small, from people who have carried on seeing partners all the way through this to friends presently at their holiday home. Am I the dickhead here for doing what I’m told? two of my household are sheilding and we’ve been invited to two parties this weekend.

Nope, most people I know are following the rules. Yes parties in gardens etc but all 2m apart

Northernsoulgirl45 · 13/06/2020 22:05

We are sticking to rules too. Lots seem to no longer care though. Huge groups out on bikes today and loads more incidents. DH shielding too.

MrsZola · 13/06/2020 22:07

Us too! DH is shielding, so we've been locked down forever. Still staying home etc - no relaxing here.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 13/06/2020 22:11

We've followed the rules the whole time, still doing it. Our neighbours haven't. Not sure I can bring myself to speak to them ever again, tbh.

museumum · 13/06/2020 22:13

We’re in Scotland so only supposed to see one other household per day. Dh is going for a run with his best mate first thing tomorrow and we’re taking Dcs to see cousins in their garden late afternoon. Technically not allowed. But dh will shower and change after his run and will have kept his 2m distance from his friend. I can’t see why we need to leave him at home in the afternoon.
So yes, we are breaking the rules. But don’t feel we are increasing anybody’s risk.

amusedbush · 13/06/2020 22:17

Yep, still following Scottish government guidance. I’m working from home and staying here apart from going out for food or the occasional walk.

I haven’t seen anyone apart from DH since March.

My mother has been giving me the rage by breaking lockdown because she’s ‘bored and lonely’, as if she’s the only person in the world to be missing their friends and family Hmm

Oysterbabe · 13/06/2020 22:18

We've stuck to it until this weekend but aren't anymore. We're sick of this bollocks and are seeing family now. None of us our vulnerable and we're happy to take the very, very small risk. My kids need to see their grandparents.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/06/2020 22:19

We’re still being good Smile

NoHardSell · 13/06/2020 22:21

Up to you

They're not giving out medals

But it's self interested on your part as you have family shielding, so it makes sense for you to stay in. For those that doesn't apply to, they are equally self interested and going out.

mrsed1987 · 13/06/2020 22:22

We are following the rules and lots of my friends still are too

Endless11 · 13/06/2020 22:23

We’re still sticking to the rules. Apart from anything else and not wanting to infect other people or get infected, it makes me feel less anxious.

Flowersmakemyday · 13/06/2020 22:27

We're sticking to the rules, but it's hard when your adult daughter is in tears because she hasn't seen you for so long and you can't visit your mum because she's shielding. Then you look out the window and people are sat on the picnic tables outside the local pub having a drink!

1066vegan · 13/06/2020 22:29

I've only been going out to go to work, go shopping (just the supermarket), go for a run or to see my mum (I sit in the garden and we keep more than 2 metres apart).

I steer well clear of people when I'm out and about. Residential roads round here are busier than at the start of lockdown but still pretty quiet so it's usually safe to walk into the road to get out of people's way.

I'm not planning on changing anything soon. I've mostly been careful because of my mum, but since we started the bubble system at school this term, I feel even more of a responsibility to be careful. If I caught the virus, all the children in my bubble would have to be sent home.

IndecentFeminist · 13/06/2020 22:34

We are but are not shielding, so of course our rules look different to yours. We have had a child round for a garden playdate, been for a swim at my parents', been to the beach etc. But have maintained social distancing etc.

DrManhattan · 13/06/2020 22:39

You can do what you want

Thank scummings

Khione · 13/06/2020 22:41

Even at the instigation of lockdown the models were based on only 75% compliance and the government were surprised at how compliant we were as a whole (based on what they would have done / did do).

I find it amazing that some people are still sticking to the actual letter of the guidance. Social distancing and hand washing fine. Beyond that, unless you or the person you are meeting with is CV facing NHS or Care Home, the cases are so few you probably couldn't catch it if you tried.

Follow it if you want to but as a pp said, there won't be any medals given out.

MrsTravers · 13/06/2020 22:42

We still are.

Have had two socially distanced walks, that's it. No family since well before lockdown began.

We are low risk but it's not about us, I don't want to spread it and would really like numbers down so I could travel to see my family (within UK) and so my children can return to school.

I get really annoyed at how so many people claim to have a justification for breaking the rules. If we were only thinking of ourselves, we would too. But we're not.

hopeishere · 13/06/2020 22:44

We're shopping more than once a week. But bring fairly strict apart from that.

Heard about a friend this week getting their nails and hair done but imho they are as thick as mince anyway so never took it seriously.

JamesNesbittsBrows · 13/06/2020 22:44

We are.

Elieza · 13/06/2020 22:48

I’m following the rules. The sooner we are out if this phase and onto the next the better.

letsjustallbenice · 13/06/2020 22:50

being good, when going out we keep our distance but some others dont and so we have to move away from them, also dc wants to play with other kids but it is difficult because the other kids dont seem to understand they need to distance.. alot of people dont distance from each other because they dont have symtoms therefore think they cant have the virus but they could be carrying it, think boris should have made this more clear because people dont seem to quite understand this at all or dont care enough about other people Angry

Dartsplayer · 13/06/2020 22:51

We are and I feel the same as you, as if we're the only ones and everyone I know seems to be breaching the rules in one way or another and then today I've been getting really upset at everyone putting pictures of their children hugging a grandparent because from today they can form a social bubble. My children still can't because my sister and mum live together and my sister is shielding so I still can't see my mum or the kids see their nan

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 13/06/2020 22:54

This last week to so we’ve met up with two sets of friends outside (separately) - at the park and on a walk. Didn’t keep 2m apart.

Mycatisthebest · 13/06/2020 22:56

I'm in Scotland and still following the rules

waitingforadulthood · 13/06/2020 22:58

We're breaking rules. We are in Wales. Unlimited number garden meetings within 5 miles distance. There is NO-ONE within 5 miles I want to see. No one. I live in the back of beyond. We travelled / travel (second week doing so) 20 miles to my mams house. We spend hours in her amply spaced garden, complying bu "rules" exception the ludicrous 5 mile shit. It's hard enough for me and my children to see them and not touch them or go inside their house. After 11 weeks I can't keep not seeing them at all.
