Men staring at my breasts

I'm just fed up of pretty much every man I pass on the street staring at my boobs. Angry Should I put up with this?

With the weather having been a little warmer, naturally I've wanted to wear things a little cooler. But I'm not going out with my tits spilling out! Just crop tops, etc.

Can't we expect better?!

Lads mags

Pinkyyy · 12/06/2020 21:11

but unless your gonna wear a burka

That is a completely unacceptable comment.
There are plenty of ways to cover up without referencing a religious dress in a demeaning way.

SiaPR · 12/06/2020 21:11

And I doubt any of them even noticed she was a child, because they never even looked at her face.

namesnames · 12/06/2020 21:12

OK, op, I'll bite.

Are you suggesting 'just casual' dressing means not provocative?

Do you feel jumper wearing diminished the volume of men staring?

Tattoocrazymum · 12/06/2020 21:13

To be fair im a woman and when i see another woman with a decent pair i cant help but look Grin i dont stare of course, thats rude.
I wasnt blessed with a large set, so my looks are from jealousy that i dont have a big bouncing set

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 12/06/2020 21:15

I wouldnt personally wear a crop top out and about as a grown woman. It's a garment designed to be little more than underwear, it doesn't have any practical benefits other than to attract attention. If you want to stay cool, loose cotton shirts etc are more suitable.

You dont see a lot of men (well hung or otherwise) wearing shorts that look like little more than package enhancing boxer shorts? Because they would get stared at.

I dont think the staring is acceptable or should be condoned, at all. But I think if you wear clothing designed to attract attention you will get it.

ShinyFootball · 12/06/2020 21:16

'If that's the package I think people will look in the same way people would naturally look at a nice sports car going past.'

'
It is human nature for people to look at things they find attractive. If I saw a beautiful cat or a lovely painting I would want to look at it.
It doesn’t mean that women have to hide their assets away. It does mean that they need to understand that some men will look.'

Women and girls are not objects.

In addition, if it's about people looking at beautiful objects, why did you flag men as being the ones who will look.

This thread has a very unusual flavour to it for Mumsnet.

glitterballbag · 12/06/2020 21:18

I can't believe what I'm reading,Telling a woman not to wear perfectly normal clothing. Victim blaming is not ok! Op of course you shouldn't have to be made to feel like that

ShinyFootball · 12/06/2020 21:18

Did you mean car or cat? I read it as car due to the pp but did you mean cat?

Floatyboat · 12/06/2020 21:23

I meant car. People look at cats too but I think Freud would say that's different.

TheFuckingDogs · 12/06/2020 21:23

Wow the judgement on this thread! When it comes to tits other women sometimes have very strange judgmental attitudes! Never see it for general nice body/long legs etc but with tits women really seem to hate on other women!

ShinyFootball · 12/06/2020 21:24

Floaty men don't look at cars sexually do they?

ShinyFootball · 12/06/2020 21:26

Agree thefuckingdogs

It's gross to see so many women saying op should cover up, op secretly likes it, op is lying or exaggerating, op needs to suck it up because men can't help it, op should take it as a compliment etc

It's utterly grim

comeagaintomorrow · 12/06/2020 21:28

@Pinkyyy

Thanks. Yeah you’re right. I’ve just seen that what I thought were crop tops are actually more like vests! I swear my mum taught me that!

I pick most of them up in Next. Something like this one I think: www3.next.co.uk/g87102s52/891526#891526

As for my chest size I normally wear a 32DD bra.

@namesnames Yes jumpers do ‘help’.

OP posts:
PhoneLock · 12/06/2020 21:32

That isn't a crop top by any stretch of the imagination. I'm not even sure why you would even describe it as such.

SarahTancredi · 12/06/2020 21:36

Those are exactly what I wear. The 3 for 12 pound vest tops on next. Usually in black.

I cant wear anything that shows under work shirts so they are perfect.

Looks like we both ask for it op even though its perfectly normal clothing

ShinyFootball · 12/06/2020 21:36

Christ at op having to post picture of top so other when can judge whether she's asking for it or not

Fucks sake

comeagaintomorrow · 12/06/2020 21:37

@PhoneLock

Sorry, that honestly what I thought they were called!

I do have some that have a higher cut, I.e. show a little tummy.

Floaty men don't look at cars sexually do they?

There is an argument to be made that some do. Not in wanting to have sex way. I'm not saying I agree with all this, it's just a Freudian idea

MistressGammon · 12/06/2020 21:39

I’m large breasted and enjoy a crop top. Very happily married and not looking for any extra attention through my mode of dress but it’s summer, there’s naturally a bit more skin on show and lots of people work hard to keep fit and enjoy the benefits of having a strong, healthy body and enjoy dressing in it’s best light. It’s true men will look but it’s never really occurred to me to change into something baggy so they won’t. In another ten years they’ll stop noticing which will make equally as little difference to my life.

Pinkyyy · 12/06/2020 21:40

That's definitely not what type of top people had in mind OP!

PumpkinP · 12/06/2020 21:40

Well that’s not a crop top at all is it Hmm

Notverybright · 12/06/2020 21:41

I get it op. It made me feel so uncomfortable for years, like nobody saw me, they only saw he tits, and I was just attached to them.

I gave up in the end and started dressing more conservatively, only to be chastised by other women (and one gay man) for not making the most of my assets.

Then the rest of me got fat and no-one looks at me at all.

Notverybright · 12/06/2020 21:41

*the

comeagaintomorrow · 12/06/2020 21:43

@Notverybright

That’s really sad about your friends!
