admittedly, ive only been a member for a few months, but i have come to this conclusion. take today for instance. the main topic of conversation on this section is; parents of 5 year olds worried about which senior school to go to? on that thread is the biggest bore & snob you will ever have the misfortune to meet. this popular thread is closely followed by mums worried about whats in their kids packed lunch? mums get a life! im off for a fag.

I love being middle class. I am terribly tedious though.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 24/09/2007 10:33

No Kerry, that would make a person Scum. Not accepted by their former peers (Not Good Enough - shameful), nor accepted by the lower classes for having once been Middle Class.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 24/09/2007 10:35

is this more to your liking KM?

duchesse · 24/09/2007 11:19

Damn it, I just blew my own pun. Not at all punny.

Habbibu · 24/09/2007 11:21

KerryMum - isn't that what the term "Genteel Poor" means? Just thought you might prefer that to Scum.

Wolfgirl · 24/09/2007 11:35

This may have been discussed before, but whilst we are on the subject, could someone explain, or point me in the direction of a sage old being to explain....

Class society. What is it? I dont think this has ever been explained, boundaries of who falls into which class outlined etc. Growing up, I would hear adults talk of such things. A labourer would be classed working class, a collar worker middle class, and of course nobility - Upper class.

Talking about this recently with DH, I said that I thought we were working upper class. He said oh no no no no!!! we are middle class.

Who knows what are the boundaries, what considerations/circumstances are taken into account to categorise you. ? would be very interested to know. thanks

omg all the old chestnuts are coming out, shes thick, shops in iceland so shes a chav. i can assure you that me & and talula dont own a piece of burberry between us. and just to back up my original op that your all bores, example of thread in aibu;

  1. party invite demands £5 (yawn yawn) i could honestly start thread asking; aibu to want my dog to learn the violin? i just dont get it? your all grown women with kids and obviously well educated, yet you sit around all day discussing the biggest load of dross imaginable. im beginning to think your not just boring, but all slightly mad! i thought i might have something in common with you, ( im a women with a family) but theres just too much "animal farm" going on here. " all animals are equal; but some are more equal than others". so ill shove off back to my on line bingo, and leave you middle class bores to get on with it. i bid you farewell, or should that be "naff off"

fair enough

StealthPolarBear · 24/09/2007 12:04

What exactly do you want us to discuss? May I suggest you start a thread on it and stop slagging off other people's threads?

3andnomore · 24/09/2007 12:05

lol, glad I gave some people a chuckle there with my stoopidity...

must say, I keep chuckling to myself about this...now relaly, just imagine...I had started a thread about a name thief....

3andnomore · 24/09/2007 12:09

talula....really don't get your problem...you obviously don't like it here, and that is fine....we all like different things...but either start your own interesting debates or join another forum...what is the problem...

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 12:10

Talulasmum, what is wrong with the party invitation 5 pound thread???
The mother was genuinely unsure whether she was over-reacting and if she should have to pay for the privilege of accepting a party invitation.
FYI, I have shopped in iceland, my daughter has a bratz bed cover, I used to smoke, and rent my home.
Does that mean I'm not a middle class bore??
Just a bore??

Aitch · 24/09/2007 12:14

oh do fuck off, talulasmum, you're the one being boring here.
