Tying myself up in knots reading and comparing reviews.
Shark? Miele?
Short white dog hairs everywhere on a dark coloured carpet!
My trusty Hetty just isn’t effective - help please!

Cant wait to hear about it.

Was just about to order one but wanted to add a power brush pet attachment and wanted the brush one rather than the one with rubber bits but not sure is compatible on the model I have chosen. I am going to call them tomorrow and also ask if they are still doing NHS discount!

Snooks1971 · 08/06/2020 21:50

chocolatespiders good luck and hope you get a discount! I just hope the bloody thing lives up to expectations. Can’t wait though (rubs hands)

Miele Cat & Dog. That and only that.

loobylou44 · 09/06/2020 08:57

chocolatespiders the shark website does a 20% discount if you have the BlueLightCard for being an NHS worker.

chocolatespiders · 09/06/2020 14:33

Thanks loubylou I have not got a blue light card but after 20 years in NHS maybe it is about time I got one as I have heard lots about them.

DimplesToadfoot · 09/06/2020 17:55

@chocolatespiders

On Very if you use the cide WELCOME you can get 20% off when you buy for the first time on credit ... sorry @Snooks1971

sunshinesupermum · 09/06/2020 18:51

Just received my Hoover H-FREE 500 Pets 3in1 Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, HF522UPT and its FABULOUS!!!! And can now say I'm hoovering again instead of vacuuming lol.

Snooks1971 · 09/06/2020 19:36

@DimplesToadfoot arghh bugger bugger bugger
That might help someone else though. I was clearly blinded (and stupid) Sad

My vax just died. Shark corded or cordless? Cordless is tempting, but would I have to screw a charging unit to the wall?

KatieB55 · 09/06/2020 20:16

Miele cat & dog too. Had mine for 6 years & still good for 3 dogs (one is a moulting collie).

DimplesToadfoot · 09/06/2020 20:21

@Snooks1971 not stupid, just eager and excited, theres nothing wrong with that. If I were you I'd ring Very and say you forgot and can they help or you'll return it, (you don't have to mean it) You've nothing to lose and money to gain by trying

Snooks1971 · 09/06/2020 20:26

You know what, @DimplesToadFoot, I’ve just had a shower and had those similar thoughts during it! Like you say, nothing to gain from trying - thank you. 20% off is £70 isn’t it? Quite a lot!!

I killed 3 vacuums and have just spent £23 on a pet hair brush from Amazon. It is a bloody miracle. It get all the dust, human hair and cat fluff. You almost don't need a vacuum.

thethoughtfox · 09/06/2020 20:34

*killed them with cat/ human hair. I'm not an appliance psycho.

DimplesToadfoot · 09/06/2020 20:37

I might have actually misread the small print ... it might be 10% if its classed as electrical ... but still 10% is better than nothing ... ill see if I can post the link to what I'm looking at so you can see for yourself ..... www.very.co.uk/first-order-discount.page

DimplesToadfoot · 09/06/2020 20:47

Theres also this

To ask what is the best hoover for pet hair?
Snooks1971 · 09/06/2020 20:48

Dimples ah yes see what you mean, it does look like 10% not 20. I suppose because electricals seem to be almost price set across the board. That’s still 35 quid though. I will see what they say. Huge thanks again.

I am finding my shark better than the Miele I had

DimplesToadfoot · 09/06/2020 21:40

Good luck, let us know how you get on :-)

CherryPavlova · 09/06/2020 21:46

A shark works best. Dalmatians are notoriously big moulters. I think about a bucket of hair a day on average. We use a Henry and Henrietta upstairs but downstairs it’s a shark, as the Henry just isn’t powerful enough to remove the white fur covering.

SummerDayWinterEvenings · 09/06/2020 21:48

Miele cat and dog -13 years and as good as the day I got it -endless dog and animals here -no problem.

userxx · 10/06/2020 08:32

@MotherofTerriers For some reason I think a corded will be more powerful and judging by your name you might need it. Unless you mean your kids are terriers and not the furry variety.

MotherofTerriers · 10/06/2020 09:10

Nope userxx, real terriers. Kids are grown up but ne has very long hair. Corded it is then, thanks

Bluewarbler27 · 10/06/2020 09:22

I have two Shark Duos. They are great but once a week I use my “proper” hoover which is a Sebo. It’s an older one though so much more powerful 2200w as opposed to the 900watts ones you can only buY now due to EU regulations. It’s an amazing hoover.

userxx · 10/06/2020 09:38

real terriers.

The best kind 👍.
