Mulling this over as I look through job listings. I think for me it is enjoying fitness classes at different expensive studios, well pre covid it was. Not sure when we will be able to do that again! But I really enjoy it so much and it is definitely not an essential, I'm fortunate to be able to do so. We do live in an eye-wateringly expensive area so I guess that is partly a luxury, although we do need to live in this city for my partner's work.

What would you say is the most luxury aspect of your lifestyle?

Horse.
Horse livery.
Horse equipment.
Horse clothes.
Horse transport.
Horse trainer.

Makes me p*ss poor, drive a crappy car, and my foreign holidays are a distance memory.

Couldn’t be happier Grin

PrincessHoneysuckle · 06/06/2020 23:49

Expensive perfume.Average on a bottle a month usually around £180 for 100ml.

echt · 06/06/2020 23:51

Theatre, opera, cinema.
.
No idea when they'll open again, nor how expensive they'll be with social distancing.

Thankfucksummerishere · 06/06/2020 23:51

Really enjoying reading about everyones favourite treats!

Horses - have had 2 or 3 at a time for 20 years, now down to 1 - dread to think what the total adds up to, could probably have bought another house!

Now getting into triathlon so it'll probably be bikes and entry fees in future.

Purpletigers · 06/06/2020 23:55

Art and furniture . My daughter is learning to ride and I can envisage a horse in her future , I’m not intending on spending huge amounts as we have our own land and stables . I always wanted a horse growing up so I guess it’s as much for me as for her .

Purpletigers · 06/06/2020 23:56

And plants and stuff for my garden

essexmum777 · 06/06/2020 23:56

Currently its counselling for me and school fees for DC. Missing botox though.

Candyfloss99 · 07/06/2020 00:00

Holidays in 5 star luxury resorts around the world.

chrissycn11 · 07/06/2020 00:01

Beauty gadgets such as my Wellbox, which was about £900 - worth every penny with endless top to toe treatments. Plus I have many other beauty gadgets because they last, whilst skincare creams/serums don't. The likes of Charlotte Tilbury skincare is nice, BUT you are paying for fancy packaging and flash advertising. Check the ingredients and go from there, don't buy into packaging and adverts.

ITonyah · 07/06/2020 00:02

Private school and horses.

Colom · 07/06/2020 00:02

Expensive skincare. I spend a stupid amount on it... I'm not sure it even makes a difference Confused might rethink that one...

Food as pps said. We definitely overindulge in the good stuff!

We don't go on holiday very often but when we do go we never scrimp and always stay in very nice 5* hotels - makes the experience so much better.

OhTheRoses · 07/06/2020 00:04

Oh it has to be DH. I have indulged his workaholism for 30 years; his need to have a neatly pressed hanky and boxers. Therefore our home in France, and trappings of a lovely lifestyle followed.

Pintsizedblondie197 · 07/06/2020 00:05

Cleaner, long haul holidays every year. Also when we bought our house nearly 4 years ago we pretty much skinted ourselves out knowing we'd be pretty poor for the first couple of years, we're now thankfully on the way out of it but it was definitely worth cutting our cloth for.

opinionatedfreak · 07/06/2020 00:05

Nice fabric and posh yarn.

Grandmi · 07/06/2020 00:05

Granddaughter...she is worth every penny 💕

BadTimesAtTheElRoyale · 07/06/2020 00:06

My Craft Gun Club subscription. I started it in February after I had a full hysterectomy due to a cervical cancer diagnosis. I earn minimum wage but am fortunate that my mortgage is paid off. I would cut out a lot of other things before this. It brings me joy as Marie Kondo would say.

MrsAvocet · 07/06/2020 00:12

We own a (small) yacht and a few fairly good bikes. We spend quite a lot on the children's hobbies.

bingowingsmcgee · 07/06/2020 00:14

Books. They make me so excited and comforted at the same time. Buying them and reading them feels like following a trail.

Fink · 07/06/2020 00:24

Holidays. I try not to fly so only short haul.

My studies. It's not somthing I 'buy' as such, but it feels very indulgent to spend time doing a PhD when I could work full time.

blueshoes · 07/06/2020 00:30

Not killing myself for my career by going for the stressful top job but instead doing a role at a level I am comfortable with.

EmpressSuiko · 07/06/2020 00:45

Do trips to primark or H&M count? 😂 we don’t really indulge in anything.

This year has been devastating, we never go on holiday as we can’t afford to but we were granted some funding as my youngest is disabled and we were finally supposed to go away for a week at a haven park, not too far from home, only across the boarder but it would have been our first holiday together. I was really excited for it and I’ve been riddled with guilt ever since it was cancelled which is silly but it meant something to me.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/06/2020 00:53

I guess our biggest luxury is our lifestyle. We both work from home as we choose, we have a very good work-life balance. Our income after tax is about 20k per month. But we don't go mad working. Our workflow is very relaxed. We could work elsewhere for more but don't.

It's a good life.

ViveLEntenteCordiale · 07/06/2020 01:01

Biggest everyday luxury must be skincare/perfume/makeup. Not eye-wateringly expensive stuff but definitely not cheap, and I probably have more perfume and nail polish that I will use in my lifetime Blush And I get my hair coloured professionally.

Biggest expensive (apart from our house, which could be considered a luxury as it's more than big enough for the two of us) is business class tickets to Australia to visit family every few years. I have a bad back and there's no way I'd get through it in economy unless I was unconscious!

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/06/2020 01:05

@empress I hear you. You are right to feel disappointed. I hope you can get away once this madness is over.
