Mulling this over as I look through job listings. I think for me it is enjoying fitness classes at different expensive studios, well pre covid it was. Not sure when we will be able to do that again! But I really enjoy it so much and it is definitely not an essential, I'm fortunate to be able to do so. We do live in an eye-wateringly expensive area so I guess that is partly a luxury, although we do need to live in this city for my partner's work.

What would you say is the most luxury aspect of your lifestyle?

It used to be expensive bags and shoes, but now I’m not going anywhere it’s become nice food and expensive face creams and lotions.

MaxNormal · 16/03/2021 14:02

Good quality, mostly organic food.

Londonmummy66 · 16/03/2021 14:03

Sending DC to boarding school although that is for them not for me (6th form and really wanted to go)

For me - things that smell nice so Jo Malone perfume, REN bath oil and Diptyque candles
Glyndebourne and a box at the Proms
Membership of a West End club for all the family (although it does have a really nice gym and pool and membership is cheaper than a CIty gym so not that extravagant).

Chocolateandamaretto · 16/03/2021 14:04

Osteopath

Yorkshiremummyof1 · 16/03/2021 14:06

My zoo and my workout gear that’s in the summer house. Made my own gym basically

giao · 16/03/2021 14:07

Expensive art and craft materials, and lovely storage to keep it all in.

I think I enjoy looking at it more than using it.

We own a caravan on a Haven holiday park. It might not seem luxury but the upkeep is really expensive. Every year when the site fees are due I think about getting rid of it but we love the lifestyle of being able to go when we want, somewhere familiar and seeing our owner friends.

Inextremis · 16/03/2021 14:15

Food. Fresh fish deliveries, recipe books, kitchen gadgets, spices and exotic oils. Quality ingredients. Also tea - currently have six different types, none of which are herbal :)

Candyfloss99 · 16/03/2021 14:16

My second car, my animals and my holidays.

NotMeekNotObedient · 16/03/2021 14:18

Food definitely.

The occasional massage/beauty treatment. Would love to have more regular massages.

RedRiverShore · 16/03/2021 14:22

Holidays, but since we are stuck here for the foreseeable it will be a new motorhome.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 16/03/2021 14:23

Cleaner. I’d give my husband up before I gave her up

Okbye · 16/03/2021 14:25

Holidays to Disneyworld. Cant wait till we're allowed to go again! 😩

Flippyferloppy · 16/03/2021 14:26

Getting my nails done (although if I don't, my hands end up in a right state).
For the last month, a cleaner. Bliss...

JustDanceAddict · 16/03/2021 14:32

Probably food - even now!
I get a good hair cut/colour every 8 weeks or so. I’ve been to cheaper salons but the experience is just not as nice (esp in Covid times, the one I go to is very safe).
Books - but mainly kindle and I wait till they’re reduced!!

RacheyCat · 16/03/2021 14:34

Nails, skin care, yoga classes. I used to just attend the classes at my local gym so they were included in membership, but now I'm going to a boutique studio with a sea view. Seems especially indulgent but completely exquisite. Every time I go to class, the upheaval of moving here feels especially worth it and I remember why I moved 3000 miles without DH (he's joining in a few months) during a pandemic.

MeribleMelon · 16/03/2021 14:35

Outdoor gear and sports kit in general... mountain bike, ski stuff, I play hockey... LOVE running trainers. I do run a lot so it’s justified 😁 decathlon is my crack.

RacheyCat · 16/03/2021 14:35

Kilometers, not miles, in fact. Blush

RacheyCat · 16/03/2021 14:37

@NotMeekNotObedient

Food definitely.

Oh gosh, and foot massages. I really try to get one a week. They're reasonably priced and I massively prefer them to regular massages where you have to lie face down and end up all puffy and with rumpled hair.
Blondiney · 16/03/2021 14:40

Perfume, my collection is obscene.

Dogs. My beasties have their own chest freezer, packed with gruesome stuff.

DarlingCoffee · 16/03/2021 14:40

Flowers and subscription coffee pods. And Abel and Cole veg box. All of these make me very happy

Icantrememebrtheartist · 16/03/2021 14:46

My children. I didn’t want any until I hit 39 and now I have 3. I had money before them - now I have none!

Sgtmajormummy · 16/03/2021 14:47

Holidays, posh plates (€20 for a cereal bowl when they’re €3 at IKEA, but, hey, I’ll have that too!) and regular additions to my fabric stash.

Sgtmajormummy · 16/03/2021 14:50

And Lampe Berger oils.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 16/03/2021 14:50

Skincare, holidays (!), gifts for friends. Came on here for ideas really Grin I find it interesting that I'm reading some posts and thinking 'Ooh good idea' and others realising some things don't matter to me. We're all different Smile
