Mulling this over as I look through job listings. I think for me it is enjoying fitness classes at different expensive studios, well pre covid it was. Not sure when we will be able to do that again! But I really enjoy it so much and it is definitely not an essential, I'm fortunate to be able to do so. We do live in an eye-wateringly expensive area so I guess that is partly a luxury, although we do need to live in this city for my partner's work.

What would you say is the most luxury aspect of your lifestyle?

Handbags & atm I’m spending quite a bit on skincare.

DK123 · 16/03/2021 14:53

Driving a nice car and going to concerts for me.
I do go on nice holidays too, when I go, but that's very occasionally rather than my usual extravagance
I used to spend a lot of money on nice clothes but really lost interest over the last few years as I really don't need any more

Jaxhog · 16/03/2021 14:54

Tech for me. And Art supplies.

Jaxhog · 16/03/2021 14:54

Not to mention Tods shoes.

Aneley · 16/03/2021 14:57

Skincare.

happytobemrsg · 16/03/2021 14:59

My skincare maybe. I double cleanse, use serums & oils, each costing £35 - £55. Adds up when you use about 6 products at a time!

Lorieandrews · 16/03/2021 15:02

@Shannith

Horse.
Ha. Yes. This! Equestrian girls would go hungry so their own horse could live the life of luxury! My mare isn’t around anymore. But just before she died her medication alone was £900 a month. That’s before the rest.
vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 16/03/2021 15:04

Counsellor. 40 quid a week well spent.

Lorieandrews · 16/03/2021 15:10

@nonevernotever

Thanks to everyone for the sympathy. To be honest, although I miss him horribly, I don't miss the worry. he was 29, went downhill so quickly at the end that the vet suspected a mass in his abdomen and he had a lovely last day. And trying to make all the arrangements in lockdown would have been so much harder.
Oh bless. My old mare was 35. She also went downhill very quickly. She also had a lovely last day. She used to love to eat this weed. But I was told to never let her eat too much. But on her last day. She ate it all. I was so proud of her. I’m sure you were of yours. Listen not all people can afford to look after the old ones. Be proud xx he sounds amazing. Just like his owner x
Lammergeier · 16/03/2021 15:13

Food.

Cam2020 · 16/03/2021 15:14

dottiedodah · 16/03/2021 15:18

dottiedodah · 16/03/2021 15:20

Also w/e away and trips to see family /friend in US.

UncleBunclesHouse · 16/03/2021 15:22

Ooh I feel very indulgent...although most of these have been off the agenda for the past year:

Horses
Annual spa break
LVL lashes
Cheek filler
Facials
‘Naice’ face products
Expensive hairdresser every 6-8 weeks
Nice candles and smelly house things
Fancy chocolate mousse deserts
Fancy non-alcoholic fizzy drinks
Nice moisturiser and massage oil for DC

I could (grudgingly) ditch all of it except the horses if I needed to cut back. This year has highlighted that.

Changemaname1 · 16/03/2021 15:26

Skincare , botox etc , travel
You’d think I’d have saved some money during the last year ... but no

GappyValley · 16/03/2021 15:27

A full time nanny housekeeper, despite DC being in school/nursery in the morning

Knowing that I don't have to panic for childcare if there is ever a sick day, or during the holidays, and knowing the laundry gets done every morning is worth more to me than anything else I could spend the money on if she was just part time

myBumJuiceSmellsLikeRoses · 16/03/2021 15:28

Before lockdown it was rugby.
The monthly payment for my season ticket and the travel & tickets to away games add up.
Also monthly gym membership.

Those I can still indulge in :
fresh flowers every week (supermarket, but still non-essential).
alcohol.
skincare to offset said alcohol.

Chimeraforce · 16/03/2021 15:30

When tk maxx is open, candles and real lavender bubble bath in big bottles.
Currently... Nothing as I've got weight to shift ☹️🙄 so choc and cakes are out. I hate the gym (love outdoors) and don't have a horse.

bridgetreilly · 16/03/2021 15:42

Art supplies. I'm just not prepared to use cheap/medium range ones.

Tupperwarelid · 16/03/2021 15:43

Expensive hairdresser and skin care.

I suspect you don’t actually care about the replies to this and in fact you created this post just to humble brag.
Druidlookingidiot · 16/03/2021 15:46

Regular facials.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 16/03/2021 15:50
