I’d change the kitchen cupboards and potentially install different doors out to garden... I really like it, DH thinks garden too small (family of 4).

North facing gardens are fine as long as they are deep. I have an 80 ft one and get plenty of sun during spring/summer.

Duvetday8 · 06/06/2020 19:38

I wouldn't buy on Crawley personally

niki26 · 06/06/2020 19:41

I'm in Reigate - we are looking to upsize in Reigate or surrounding areas but I really like that house. May have to widen our search area! Wink

DontStandSoCloseToMe · 06/06/2020 19:43

It's not my cup of tea and you're paying for a house that's 'done', I hate the kitchen even though I'm a big fan of colour rather than grey boxes, the wall of mirrors and the garden in particular would get a no from me. I'd rather pay less for a project or keep looking for something else, but it depends on your taste. To me it's lacking in warmth and character and I'm not sure it would be an easy/cheap fix

@Newbie1999

If you could possibly look a little further afield than Crawley like many people have said, Haywards Heath, Horsham, Reigate & all their surrounding villages I would. I live in a lovely village near Haywards Heath & work in Crawley, Pound Hill is a reasonable area but the town itself not great at all & also particularly susceptible to a downturn in the next few months as a result of CV19. Good luck

Padfootprongs · 06/06/2020 19:55

I love that people are saying the house/ garden is small 😅. It’s massive! However I wouldn’t want to live in Crawley personally.

newmumwithquestions · 06/06/2020 20:01

I like the kitchen!

House not too small at all.

Personally I don’t like the garden but we bought our last house because I loved the garden, even though neither of us particularly liked the house, so I appreciate I probably have different priorities to a lot of people.

LocksMyth · 06/06/2020 20:01

It's Crawley.......

tara66 · 06/06/2020 20:06

I've not read many post but this house is very near Gatwick Airport - so are you not going to get a great deal of plane noise all the time - plus all the plane pollution? Gatwick does not have many flights at the moment but if and when it resumes them - how bad will it be? Like the tree.

jollygoose · 06/06/2020 20:12

Love the tree in the front garden

goose1964 · 06/06/2020 20:18

Love the kitchen but would be worried about the lack of photos of some rooms.

Rubbleonthedouble1 · 06/06/2020 20:42

OP have you visited Crawley? X

1Morewineplease · 06/06/2020 20:54

The images concentrate on the kitchen area and smallish living area. This house seems very overlooked for the money you’re prepared to pay... have looked through the nets in those pictures.
Garden is pokey .
Kitchen seems fantastic but very cold. If it’s your style then go for it.

Jul1911 · 06/06/2020 21:14

Garden let's it down and no en suite??

Lockeduporknockedup · 06/06/2020 21:18

I grew up in a detached house in the Cotswolds as the youngest of four with a garden about that size - it was NEVER a problem. We had grass though so I would recommend that. My husband grew up in a very expensive Georgian ex-farmhouse in the Cotswolds with a garden about the same size as that. He's the middle child of three - literally no problem. Our current garden is 150 ft, we've split it into sections and almost never use anything other than the first 50 ft (and it's a narrow garden, around 15ft) - we've never had any problems. People on here are nuts or snobs if they think it's too small.

Itwasntme1 · 06/06/2020 21:29

The garden looks smaller than it is because there is no grass. The paved area is quite large.

Neverender · 06/06/2020 21:31

I really like it - you'll need much better garden furniture but I adore the kitchen!

NoWuckingForries · 06/06/2020 21:35

I think it's lovely. I'd change the kitchen cupboard doors and move things around so the sitting area was more functional I would add grass at the back. I don't like ensuites. I like the open plan with a separate sitting room and study.

hulahooper2 · 06/06/2020 21:45

You can paint the kitchen units , garden is Low maintenance , as kids get older they only use the garden to sunbathe

Thneedville · 06/06/2020 21:49

Please ignore all the snobbishness towards Crawley on here. Visit the area and make up your own mind.

It was a London overspill new town, now a mixture of working class and middle class areas. The surrounding towns and villages are more middle class, and so can express snobbish opinions on Crawley despite working there or Gatwick, coming to shop, to the leisure centre and shops and parks.

It is NOT under the flight path. Some areas of Crawley can hear the runway, but that area is ok. Also watch out for motorway noise in some areas.

Pound Hill is in catchment for decent primary and a good secondary school, and is walking distance to Three Bridges with frequent fast trains to London either Victoria or London Bridge and all the Thameslink stops.
I agree the airport jobs is a concern right now though. And I think you could find a nicer house for that money.

WellDidYa · 06/06/2020 21:54

@Hoggleludo

Crawley is horrid

I'd go Horsham. South water.

Maybe Guildford. Surrey etc? Crawley is yuck.

there are parts in Crawley that are nice, I wouldnt live in Horsham if you paid me though
snowybean · 06/06/2020 21:57

The garden looks fairly big, it's just poorly designed. Get rid of the wood chip and half the patio stones, lay down a lawn and it's perfect. Go on, buy the house 😏

Littlebendytoe · 06/06/2020 21:59

No amount of money would be enough for me to live in Crawley! Nice house, horrible, horrible town.

FenellaVelour · 06/06/2020 22:00

There’s no way that house is too small for a family of four. Good grief. How bizarre.

However.

The garden is small compared to the house, and is bland and plain.
The kitchen cupboards would give me a headache.

Other than that, I like it.

Proudboomer · 06/06/2020 22:01

I think the garden and house are a decent size for the money and location.
I am not a fan of the layout and style but I am not considering moving there. If you like it then the size of the garden is fine and pretty much a blank canvas to do what you want with.
