I think that the protests are fully justified, and support them, but imo looting is ridiculous. Using the horrific death of someone as an excuse to steal?? This is not what George Floyd would have wanted. Probably quite the opposite.

Yes, mrsB. But this is systematic oppression we're talking about, in a time and country, in systems, where the losers are being pushed to survive. Not a couple of squabbling toddlers. It isn't the time for it, and won't help. I'm not sure what will. My personal feeling is that our modern demographics are too big and complex for most people to handle. That, and the habitual levels of aggression and violence in the US are appalling by British standards, and those are high compared to Europe.

Voting doesn't change things when districts are so gerry-mandered by the Republicans,
when many polling stations in black areas are closed, so African Americans have to queue for 3 hours sometimes while being intimidated by armed white supermacists

Why didn't the police teargas the heavily armed white supremacists who invaded state buildings to intimidate the legislature ?
Why no rubber bullets there ?

The police are inciting riots. These were peaceful protests. The looters are not protesters.

Looting will not reverse generations of oppression. That Gucci handbag or smashing a Starbucks store won't erase centuries of pain. No one is sticking it to the man. That is bullshit that is being used by nefarious forces as they hide behind the murder of George Floyd and BLM to further their own agendas. Numerous black owned businesses have been destroyed and it does break my heart knowing how much harder it is for black people to get loans, another opportunity to pass down generational wealth lost. A 22 year old black protester/looter was shot and killed in self defence by a shop owner, for what?. I have just watched a video of a 71 year old black pawn shop owner dying in the street alone because the "protesters" killed him for some TVs. There are videos of a protester screaming because her sister was just shot dead by other protesters. People who live locally where the riots occurring are scared to death. Notorious gang members such as the Latin Kings are openly armed and protecting local areas. The vast majority of the public now want the national guard deployed. Like Killer Mike said you need to plan, execute and have tangible otherwise all that will be left is the charred remains.
