A bit of a lighthearted post, I didn't really know where to put this but for as long as I've known certain textures have made me feel phenomenally uncomfortable and I can only describe as my teeth cringing. These include, toilet paper, wet cardboard, the stuff in nappies and sanitary towels cotton wool. I've talked about this to my partner, parents and a few friends and none have an idea what I'm on about. Someone please tell me they know what I'm on about before because I can't be the only person? Grin

Velvet for me. It makes my whole body shudder with huge revolt and I avoid it at all costs.
If I do touch it by mistake I am compelled to immediately find something else to briefly and lightly scratch my nails on as (in my brain) it removes the feel/memory of the velvet that I just touched.
I’m just thinking about it now and it’s making me feel disturbed so I’m actually scratching my jeans in horror Grin

When I’m reading the kids a bed time story and I’m reading from one of my really old books, it really goes through my teeth for some reason!

Glad to know it’s not just me that this happens to haha

@Definitelysometime
I get nervous/stressed fanny too! I have never ever told anyone about it so I’m really glad to know I’m not the only person to get that!

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 31/05/2020 16:11

it’s underneath my fingernails!

Omg I know what you mean! I have to then press on my fingertips/ grip my fingers in my hand. It's so odd and I too have never known anyone else that gets it!

It doesn’t make my teeth itch but it makes me salivate 🤤

Yes yes to people rubbing/shuffling feet on carpet too!

I don't like having bare feet on carpet either.

Tearing plastic bin bags off a roll . I have to stand on them and pull . Still feels as if my teeth are being pulled out though .
