Just that really. I obviously don’t have much else going on in my life cos her attitude has really riled me!

I am only surprised that 4% of people reading this genuinely think that this woman was in any way being reasonable and OP is being U. There's gotta to be some people just pressing the wrong button by mistake, right? No one really thinks this woman is anything other than a total horror, surely?

icebearforpresident · 30/05/2020 15:25

so organizing a meal for both sets of future grandparents, together with siblings to tell the news together would be considered tacky?

I guarantee no one doing that is calling it a gender reveal party.

user1471447924 · 30/05/2020 15:51

Lol! What a vapid little chav. 🙄

x2boys · 30/05/2020 15:52

No that's not what Gender reveal parties are like @lovepickledlimes admittedly I have only ever seen them on " Teenmom" but it's a big party with pink and blue balloons etc and all the guests have to pretend to be excited when the parents find out they are having a boy or girl ,in reality nobody else really cares ,apart from the parents and maybe the grandparents .

Flixsfoilball · 30/05/2020 16:18

Oh dear, I think Miss Hughes really should get a life and stop being such a knob. It's unfortunate but she shouldn't have been having a party anyway

peperethecat · 30/05/2020 16:21

I am still chuckling at the idea that the best way to deal with two sets of divorced parents who will all throw a tantrum if they think they aren't the first to be told the baby's sex is to invite them all to a party together.

MatildaTheCat · 30/05/2020 16:26

Is Bristol exempted from lockdown?

This woman needs locking up.

HeadingForRainbows · 30/05/2020 16:28

The cynical side of me is thinking she's angry because after two lovely boys she wanted a girl and she's directing her anger at the clinic.

pumpkinbump · 30/05/2020 16:32

Whilst her actions aren't right, I do think sonographers should have learned to be a little more professional so as not to slip up when the parents have expressed they didn't want to know the sex. It happens a lot.

peperethecat · 30/05/2020 16:39

I'm sure she will keep going until she eventually gets her pink flavoured baby, and will probably end up being a single mum of five posting on Facebook about how Wayne doesn't pay child maintenance. (Sorry but they're an unmarried couple with three kids and they apparently love conflict and drama so they probably fight all the time.)

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 30/05/2020 17:45

It just confuses me that she had this whole gender reveal party planned the same day when it wasnt guaranteed she was going to find out.. so if it did become that they couldn't tell her what was she to do then?

The appointment wasnt meant to be to do with that so she lied to get it. So is in the wrong in the first place. Yes mistakes were made after but shes hardly painted herself in a good light following.

lovepickledlimes · 30/05/2020 18:01

@LetsGoFlyAKiteee oh fully agree there. A mistake was certainly made but I think the refund more then made up for it. It was wrong of her to become verbally unpleasant and to go to the papers

SleepingStandingUp · 30/05/2020 18:07

@Puddlejuice

www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/baby-changed-urine-covered-asda-4111583 Must be something in the Bristol air at the moment, this eejit and his partner took their tiny newborn to Asda, then complained the baby change was closed, so changed her on a urine soaked floor. I'm with *@StillCoughingandLaughing*, I'd probably walk under a muck spreading tractor to avoid this lot.
Jesus christ. If they haven't got the intelligence to not put the baby on a diet for, social services should be removing her
funinthesun19 · 30/05/2020 18:07

Why do people keep saying this? Is it that unbelievable that a woman with two boys would be happy with a third boy?

Maybe she’s just annoyed because of the sonographer blurting the sex out and there’s nothing more to it.

It's 95% Yanbu so 95% yes the woman is ridiculous
Gre8scott · 30/05/2020 18:10

I hate gender revel parties that are a stupid money making invention that people fall for

AlternativePerspective · 30/05/2020 18:25

So am I right in thinking that people now have gender reveal parties and baby showers? Good God how tacky and grabby.

Also, if you arrange this party beforehand and it transpires that the pregnancy is not a healthy one, what then?

@StillCoughingandLaughing

They look like the kind of people I’d walk under buses to avoid. ‘Gender reveal’? Pass me a puke bag.
I couldn't have said it better myself

Especially after then reading about the family that lost their baby daughter

Bouncingbelle · 30/05/2020 21:38

So if she had went to this health scan, and been told there was something wrong with the baby, would she still be mad that it ruined her party & scratchcards?! THEN she could have described herself as 'devastated'.

OP posts:
exerciseinmypyjamas · 30/05/2020 21:53

You can buy the scratchcards on Amazon- you write what the baby is on them and then stick the scratch off bit on top.

IMO she needs a great big fine for having a party during lockdown and that clinic needs shutting down as well. If they're offering health scans only, then where the fuck do teddy bears with heartbeats in them come into it?? Last time I checked the NHS dont offer you teddies when you have scans in pregnancy

lovepickledlimes · 30/05/2020 22:01

@exerciseinmypyjamas it was as part of an apology for the mistake that happened

Lightofthephoenix · 01/06/2020 11:01

She would of needed to know what sex the baby is to of done that.
