Just that really. I obviously don’t have much else going on in my life cos her attitude has really riled me!

She wanted a girl. She didn't get the girl she wanted. Ergo tantrum. Total non-article!

user1487194234 · 29/05/2020 21:52

Presumably she wanted a girl
Lucky if that is the worst thing she ever heard at a scan

LynetteScavo · 29/05/2020 21:53

That women is a total fool.

The sonographer accidentally told me the gender with DD.

DH laughed, I said "But I didn't want to know!" The Sonographer said "What children do you have already? This will make a change then!" DH and I then went out for lunch to celebrate that we were having a healthy baby. Because we're normal people, not attention seeking ungrateful fools.

Owwlie · 29/05/2020 21:58

Puddlejuice they definitely are qualified sonographers. With both of my daughters I had a scan at window to the womb to find out the sex. The first time I had the same sonographer there as at my 20 week scan and the second I saw the sonographer (a different one) whilst waiting for my 20 week scan. The appointments are mostly evenings and weekends so a lot of the sonographers do extra hours there.

The woman is being ridiculous though and I really don’t get ‘gender reveal’ parties.

ScreamingBeans · 29/05/2020 21:58

Why is she assuming her baby's gender? You can't tell someone's gender from a scan, only their sex. Someone needs to tell her...

Puddlejuice · 29/05/2020 21:59

@GreytExpectations I'm not annoyed at the company at all. The point I was making is that sex scans are banned, she tried to get around this by having a "health scan". She was told she was having a healthy baby, and she's "devastated". My quarrel is not with the scanner, but with this ridiculous woman.

funinthesun19 · 29/05/2020 22:02

If they weren’t qualified sonographers then surely the business would have been shut down by now by whoever checks the standards of these companies. It’s a medical examination Confused

Crunchymum · 29/05/2020 22:02

Who the fuck were they having a gender reveal party with?

And Alfie and Archie????

NowSissyThatWalk · 29/05/2020 22:03

Window to the womb 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

jackdawdawn · 29/05/2020 22:04

No. Arseholes like this should be sent to a neonatal intensive care unit, where the other parents can put them straight about their priorities.

GreytExpectations · 29/05/2020 22:06

@Puddlejuice didn't realise sex scans were banned but your previous post seemed like you were accusing the company of not hiring qualified sonographers. Either way the woman is entitled to her scan but her reaction was ridiculous.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 29/05/2020 22:07

I want this woman to be my Facebook friend and I have never ever had a Facebook account but just imagine the threads you could start about herGrin.

moanyhole · 29/05/2020 22:07

I got one of those 3d scans on my first pregnancy. Same thing happened. We just laughed and reassured the sonographer that it was no big deal. End of story. Juat hapoy to have a healthy baby.

Standrewsschool · 29/05/2020 22:08

She over-exaggerated definitely. Swearing as she left was unnecessary, even if she didn’t aim it at anyone specifically.

0r to an infertility clinic, that would help them get things in perspective.

Archie, then Alfie, bets on the next one? I reckon Albie or Ernie

Arnie. She's decided on Arnie.

Not even an original initial letter . . .

I daresay a girl would have been And, or Allie. Saves having new nametape printed for school. All she has to have on them is A. Tosser.

Port1aCastis · 29/05/2020 22:22

Daft attention seeking maid who clearly needs a good shake up

tangochutney · 29/05/2020 22:23

@Crunchymum did you get to the bit in the article where she says the new baby will be Arnie Grin

Florrieboo · 29/05/2020 22:23

I am really confused, how did they have the party all ready to go if they did not know the sex of the baby before the scan? the (tacky) scratchcards etc?

Scratch cards oh dear oh dearie me what a wazzock but I can't help laughing at the daft cow

Bouncingbelle · 29/05/2020 22:27

Ugh! Surely the point of ‘gender reveal’ parties (not that I think there IS a point!) is to tell other people, not have them watch you finding out! And why the big fuss about the guys mother having to phone the clinic to confirm what sex the baby was when they already knew??!,

It’s always the people who shouldn’t breed who seem to be the most fertile.

I have nothing against finding out the baby’s sex (I found out with one of mine) but really hate this fixation with it- all the ‘celebs’ from TOWIE etc seem to have these big fancy gender reveals with everything full-on pink and blue.

Seems weird that when I was born 27 years ago most people did not have the option to find out. I’ve known some pregnant women who seem completely fixated on what the baby’s sex will be from the moment they find out they are pregnant and are booked in for a private scan at the earliest possible moment. My pet peeve is when people refer to the 20-week NHS anomaly scan as the ‘gender scan’, if that’s your own worry then you clearly need to sort your priorities.
