Random question, but what are your favourite beauty products?!

OP posts:
Froq · 01/06/2020 15:15

In case it’s if any use to anyone, my experience with CT magic cream on my dry skin was extremely negative. It’s heavily scented and made my face feel raw and tight. It also didn’t act as a good base for primer + foundation.

I tried a few other products from the skincare line and just didn’t get on well with any of them. I stick to the Superdrug vitamin E and natural radiance products now and my skin is the healthiest it’s ever been.

stayathomer · 02/06/2020 16:39

Froq that actually helps so much, It's so tempting, but I do worry about the price

stayathomer · 02/06/2020 17:04

Make-up wise - L'oriel telescopic mascara is better than much more expensive mascaras.
Yes!!! But last time I was in they didn't have it:( Also Roche posay extension mascara. Oh oh oh and for anyone wo ever thought about chubby sticks, they are epic!!!

stayathomer · 03/06/2020 07:40

Oh and if someone ever asked me what foundation I'd buy no matter what, match perfection by Rimmel and collection concealer. Had been told were dunes for YSL but wow!!!

stayathomer · 03/06/2020 07:41

Dupes even!

Lottiebugz22 · 03/06/2020 09:32

I need a nice light moisturiser that won't cause clogged pores or spots. I can't find one that suits me. Any recommendations?

Trish McEvoy- everything she sells. It’s all wonderful, though bloody hard to get hold of sometimes.

Perhaps I shouldn’t let on!Wink

hahahahaaa · 03/06/2020 09:48

I've been a Clarins devotee for decades. Cost me a fortune. Since lockdown I've thought oh fuck it and used Palmolive soap and baby lotion. Several people have commented recently that my skin looks amazing. Confused

kmc1111 · 03/06/2020 09:50

Microneedling treatments for facial scarring

Tretinoin for acne and aging

Laneige Cica moisturiser for irritated/red skin

Drunk Elephant Protoni moisturiser for everyday

Olaplex for bleached/lightened hair

MorrisZapp · 03/06/2020 10:06

Olaplex does nothing for me. Bleached and dry.

Buggedandconfused · 03/06/2020 10:08

Watching

NannyPear · 03/06/2020 12:59

So the Lagom SPF50 face sun cream came and so far so good!! Feels very moisturising and sinks into skin quickly. Great under makeup and almost acts like a primer for it. Still need to see if it breaks me out at all.

It does say on it to reapply every 2 hours which I won't be doing (that would cost a fortune for a start!). Does anyone actually reapply their face SPF throughout the day when it's not particularly hot, winter etc?

Libertylee · 03/06/2020 13:14

Love the urban Veda range- very good with sensitive skin

Liveandforget · 04/06/2020 13:47

www.boots.com/cerave-facial-moisturising-lotion-52ml-10258275

Also comes in a spf version. I won't use anything else now.

Easttt · 04/06/2020 14:30

NARS lip balm
Hourglass Lip Oil

Eyeshadows, mascaras and lipsticks I have a range of and don't see much difference in quality as long as I'm using good brushes.

SerenDippitty · 04/06/2020 14:39

Olay Pro Vital Day and Night creams - but I think they've been discontinued, finding them increasingly hard to get. Sad

SoftBlocks · 04/06/2020 14:43

Inkey list Bakuchiol (alternative to retinol)
Waitrose pure micellar water.
Both quite reasonably priced.

REN perfect canvas primer. Quite expensive but worth it.

SoftBlocks · 04/06/2020 14:45

Also Altruist sunscreen- so cheap! Recommended by Sali Hughes I think.

ITonyah · 04/06/2020 14:47

Hydrolonic acid (japan)
Cactus Oil
Nivea lip balm in the cherry colour

pepperpod28 · 04/06/2020 14:50

CeraVe face wash and moisturiser (I use the pump bottle one on my face and it's fab).

HG has to be the Ren spf. Can't recommend enough if you're oily. The only spf that has never made me greasy or spotty, and controls my oily t-zone. Light dusting of powder over the top and it lasts all day.

DKanin · 04/06/2020 15:04

La Roche posay effaclar H - the full range - keeps my acne away!
La Roche posay hydraulonic acid serum
Obagi vitamin c serum
Elizabeth Arden retinol capsules
Filorga eye cream
La Roche posay cicaplast lip balm and hand cream

Ameliotate body lotion and scrub - for keratosis Pilaris

Body shop green tea shampoo
Kerastase Bain nutritive masque
Oribe blow dry spray
Body shop grape seed serum

Nars powder foundation
Dior eyebrow pencil
Nars blush and eyeshadow
Laura mercier concealer
Tom ford lipsticks
Double wear eyeliner
Dior show mascara

Thank you for the suggestion. I've seen this mentioned a few time so I think I'll have to try it out!
