To not pay the fine because I was following my parental instincts?

Experimenopause · 26/05/2020 19:47

I have to pay a fine (correctly issued). I am planning to write a letter to the council tonight to explain why I was merely following my parental instincts and why they should contact my MP instead who can explain why it’s important to forgive people like me who mean no harm. AIBU? Grin

Are you saying that anyone is now free to help themselves to bottles of booze from supermarkets without paying?
Well, this preferential treatment means exactly that. Pity we didn’t know that all we had to do to get out of fines was to hold a press conference in 10 Downing Street and claim that we go on long drives to check our eye sights, hunt unicorns whilst tens of thousands die and are too special to follow our own rules even when we are practically a walking, talking biological weapon.

Experimenopause · 26/05/2020 23:39

Now you've proved you're on glue.
That means I must essentially check my eye sight. Glue has chemicals that can affect your eye sight.

but OP is naïve is she thinks DC is the first time something like this has happened.

OP is not naive because she knows it’s not the first time. But OP has had enough now. And you should respect that.

OP posts:
slashlover · 26/05/2020 23:45

You don't know it's preferential treatment though. There have been stories on the news of families travelling and being talked to with no fines issued.

I've worked in shops where shoplifters getting talked to with nothing else done.

slashlover · 26/05/2020 23:47

OP is not naive because she knows it’s not the first time. But OP has had enough now. And you should respect that.

So it was fine until you were the one getting the fine. Understood.

AlwaysAnEmptySpace · 26/05/2020 23:48

OP is not naive because she knows it’s not the first time. But OP has had enough now.

OP has some issues. 😬

Experimenopause · 26/05/2020 23:49

We do know it’s preferential treatment because so many others have resigned. And they didn’t write the rules book.

Whenever I've challenged fines I haven't held a press conference - but then I've not had the papz continually outside my house, several jounos solely tasked with digging some dirt on me and a contingent of protesors that hate me so much they yell their views outside my home.

It is very possible as an unpriviledged individual to challege fines and many other things - you win some. you lose some - that's life.

You really should challenge your Fine OP - take it all the way if it isn't overturned at the first stage.

Experimenopause · 26/05/2020 23:53

So it was fine until you were the one getting the fine. Understood.
Nope. Until I realised that you have to be someone like me to receive a fine. And if you are more equal than the others, you can get away with anything so long as you put a label of ‘wanna check my eye sight mate!’ on it and have a Trump wannbe boss.
Hundreds of others on this site have endorsed my point. Do you not realise why you are in such minority?

OP posts:
Experimenopause · 26/05/2020 23:57

OP has some issues.
Yes. Some pretty big ones at that. Like parents and grandparents dying alone. Like parents letting their child die alone. Like an economy that is about to tank (and I am sure Cummings was paid for the time he spent on doing that frigging press conference!). The list is getting longer now. I do need to do something about it. Even if it’s something as small as refusing to pay a fine.

OP posts:
slashlover · 26/05/2020 23:58

Hundreds of others on this site have endorsed my point.

Nonsense. Unless you're talking about the hundreds who were fined for breaking the Coronavirus laws, which is a different scenario to your fine. (apparently)

cdtaylornats · 27/05/2020 00:02

I don't understand why bullying a man who has an autistic 4 year old and a sick wife is fair.

Experimenopause · 27/05/2020 00:02

but then I've not had the papz continually outside my house, several jounos solely tasked with digging some dirt on me and a contingent of protesors that hate me so much they yell their views outside my home.
But then you haven’t written the rules for managing a pandemic that can kill hundreds of thousands of your people and can cripple to economy to a point we haven’t seen in the last 100 years.
And you haven’t even argued a fine. You have not even been issued a fine for the lockdown. You have not even been fined for driving to test your eye sight. So you get me.

OP posts:
slashlover · 27/05/2020 00:03

and I am sure Cummings was paid for the time he spent on doing that frigging press conference!)

I'd have thought he was salaried.

Have you contacted your MP, OP?

Go for it, argue that it was your parental instincts (although I can't imagine what teeny, tiny illegality that would apply to) but if you then don't have to pay, you can't argue inequality in this matter any more.

AlwaysAnEmptySpace · 27/05/2020 00:05

So you get me.

Confused No.

Please be mindful of your blood pressure.

Experimenopause · 27/05/2020 00:06

I don't understand why bullying a man who has an autistic 4 year old and a sick wife is fair.
Don’t play that card. It makes people very angry. Especially the ones who let their loved ones die alone so others could be saved. It’s not bullying if you are caught in an act and then don’t even apologise for it. In front of all those who let their people die alone.
If you are so shameless in front of the them for an act you were caught doing and have lied about in a press conference, what else are you behind closed doors?

OP posts:
Experimenopause · 27/05/2020 00:08

Unless you're talking about the hundreds who were fined for breaking the Coronavirus laws
So you are saying that at least the vast majority, if not all, of people who have endorsed my AIBU are the ones who have been fined for breaking the lockdown? That’s absurd.

OP posts:
Experimenopause · 27/05/2020 00:11

AlwaysAnEmptySpace
No no. You don’t get me. I said that in response to the post from HateIsNotGood. So unless you are the same poster with a different username, those words aren’t for you.

OP posts:
DioneTheDiabolist · 27/05/2020 00:14

Diminic Cumming's wife isnt sick. Being held to account is not bullying.

HateIsNotGood · 27/05/2020 00:18

All reasonable points OP but, if I had helped formed some rulez it would also be reasonable to expect that I had a very good understanding of them - including Small Print, Appendices, Clauses, etc.

My Rule, without exception, is to read entirely and refer directly to the Rules, Guidance, Legis, etc that is Applicable and never to rely on other interpretations of them.

The only difference between you and DC is that you have been Fined and he has not, although I don't really believe you have been fined at all OP.

MarshaBradyo · 27/05/2020 00:20

What could this fine could be for. Something so small. Dog poop - Do you get fined for that?

AlwaysAnEmptySpace · 27/05/2020 00:20

Experimenopause

I’ve read the thread. I was just commenting that I ‘didn’t get you’. You’re ranting. Take a break.

GabsAlot · 27/05/2020 00:37

you cant just rewrite every law now to your advantage

oops i killed someone-never mind dc drove to durham didnt he

its not comparable

nannieann · 27/05/2020 01:16

As daily briefing has degenerated into a Mad Hatters Tea Party, I have written to my MP saying I will not be following the "rules" but will be taking my lockdown advice from Nicola Sturgeon as she is an adult and shows integrity and common sense. Good luck with the letter, op.

Experimenopause · 27/05/2020 02:00

although I don't really believe you have been fined at all OP
Wish I didn’t. Grin Unfortunately I have a fine.

you cant just rewrite every law now to your advantage
We definitely can. That’s what’s happening. So I might as well take advantage of that.
