Thisenglishlife any evidence he was lying?

Nothappy599 · 25/05/2020 23:33

It really doesn't matter what he said. It was a distraction from the fact they fucked it all up. We have the largest deaths by million of population of any country.. They want us frothing about DC, stops us looking at figures.
But he is a lizard.

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 23:34

Any body language experts commenting on Don’s conference yet?

What was apparent that Dom assured when reading his statement but stuttered and twitched when answering questions, which usually happens when you lie.

If you read the rules there are exemptions for children and vunerable . He did not break the rules. He did not break the social distancing rules.

So why should he be sacked and not the labour MPs who did break the rules and did Not socially distance actually putting lives at risk .

The media broke the social distancing outside his London house. Should they all be sacked ?!

One of the reporters indicated he should regret the fact his family had a second home to go to?

This is politically motivated and I hope everyone of you who are being furloughed to save your jobs feel that you should not join the witch hunt.

Btw the argument about the funeral who no one could attend was down to each council . And you can attend hospital if it’s end of life .

PotholeParadise · 25/05/2020 23:47

I believe he has, and he said this countless times in thanking the public for their continued support, however BJ is hardly a poster boy for self and public responsibility himself.

I don't think I heard, "I recognise that Dominic has fallen far short of the standards the public set in their efforts to control COVID-19" on Sunday. Or, "across the country, parents strove to balance their duty to both public health and the health of their own children and succeeded to a greater extent than Dominic".

Just some waffle about how he followed his fatherly instincts.

I don’t agree with BJ handling on this, I simply have a huge issue with the way the media has dealt with this, while not following the guidelines either.

Has Grant Shapps been sent on breakfast news programming to defend any journalists for breaking quarantine ( quarantine! Not just lockdown)? Have any senior journalists appeared on TV programming to defend colleagues for roaming the country while they had suspected coronavirus?

Thisenglishlife any evidence he was lying?

Do you honestly believe he got behind the wheel with his wife and son as passengers to check if he was safe to drive? If he's not lying, what is he?

Tillygetsit · 25/05/2020 23:47

This is not a witch hunt. This is a government who hand out specific rules and then twist them for their own. Its about arrogance and total disrespect for the NHS, for people suffering due to a sense of duty, for those who cannot be comforted whilst dying.
To me, this is the biggest slap in the face ever given to the British people in my lifetime. I will NEVER forgive this shower of shit.

MH1111 · 25/05/2020 23:50

So because you think he’s lying he is 🤔

Sorry if evidence is inconvenient, but thankfully it’s still required by our legal system, if not our pathetic media

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 23:51

YY @Smilethoyourheartisbreaking You can totally tell the gyms are closed

Alsohuman · 25/05/2020 23:51

The media shot them selves in the foot today, the longer the press conference went on the more stupid they looked

So odd how perceptions differ. I thought some of them were on fire.

Peregrina · 25/05/2020 23:52

So why should he be sacked and not the labour MPs

Do we have a Labour Government with an Adviser who says he was Covid positive? Do we know which Labour MPs were covid positive and broke the rules but swore blind that they didn't because they were an exceptional case? If so then yes, they ought to resign.

I’m not talking about his statement with DC, I’m was speaking about his other briefings.

It all depends if you believe he has broken the rules or not, irregardless, I couldn’t give a damn what one man did, even if he advises the government, no one person is an army.

It could be worse it could be trump advising you to drink bleach or take medication that is ineffective to Covid.

His advise has actually killed people.

MH1111 · 25/05/2020 23:54

Which rules did Dominic Cummings break?

IloveParmaViolets · 25/05/2020 23:54

Unfortunately the British public keeps on voting for this shower of shit, it must like being punished.

You didn't answer the question. If he's not a liar, what is he?

I think 'liar' is the most compassionate conclusion I can draw. What conclusion are you drawing?

BigChocFrenzy · 25/05/2020 23:55

Former chief constable of Durham police. Mike Barton

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/may/24/defence-of-dominic-cummings-is-shameful-says-ex-durham-police-chief?

“It is clear he has broken the rules. It could not be clearer.
I cannot think of a worse example of a breach of the lockdown rules.
For it then to be defended by the government just beggars belief.”
......
“What is particularly sad and undermines completely the government position is
they seem to be operating in a bubble of self-privilege and denial
when they all should be leading by example.

‘Hypocrite’ was invented for these circumstances …
Of course it is double standards.”

Barton added:
“It feels like feudal times.
We make the rules and it is for you, the great unwashed, to follow them.”

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 23:56

The Health Protection Regulations @MH1111 The rules 14"000 people have been fined for breaking! Those rules!!

MH1111 · 25/05/2020 23:59

Helena dove - can you be specific, which if the rules has he broken?

I think bigger than Cummings today is the tragedy happening right now on the coast of Devon and Cornwall. No lifeguard patrols because of coronavirus. Mixed messages from government but big OK for people to go to beach with no patrols. Two deaths today and one life threatening.

I’m not the one making the accusation he’s a liar - I’m simply asking you to support your accusation with evidence.

It’s not for me to answer what is he.....

So odd how perceptions differ. I thought some of them were on fire.

Anna Mikaelova and Beth Rigby stood out for me.

The utter exasperation in Anna’s voice was fab. She reflected many I think.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend

Yes, I recall those briefings. However, he was put to the actual test on Sunday, and the trite blatherings before that do not cancel out his behaviour afterwards.

Human interaction doesn't work on arithmetic. You can't actually bank 50 pieces of public trust like pennies over a few months, run round being crass one night, and just make a small, pennysworth deduction from your social balance, to keep you in the black at 49 Public Trust Pennies.

Johnson's credibility is now in the red with an unknown proportion of the public.

This is a text-based forum. Try to remember that I can see what I asked, and so can everybody else. I haven't made an "accusation".

This is what I said:

Do you honestly believe he got behind the wheel withhis wife and son as passengersto check if he was safe to drive? If he's not lying, what is he?

Then I said:

You didn't answer the question. If he's not a liar, what is he?

I think 'liar' is the most compassionate conclusion I can draw. What conclusion are you drawing?

So, answer the question. What do you think he is?
