Matt Hancock is such a follower. He said 'I regret the anger people feel' which is what BJ said. No original thought.

SophieB100 · 26/05/2020 17:24

Peston didn't last long...we need Beth Rigby!

'entirely reasonable for reasonable people to disagree'

again, what BJ said yesterday

Washyourhands48 · 26/05/2020 17:25

I thought his answer and withering look to Peston was great.

SharonasCorona · 26/05/2020 17:25

Robert P is a ditherer and a blitherer

Clavinova · 26/05/2020 17:26

On a side note, I'm surprised to hear you self- describe as young, I'd pictured you as Andrea Leadsome.

Grin Quite a bit younger than Peregrina, but not young - my dc are 17 and 11. Most of the male partners I know drive Volvos, BMW estates, 4x4s - I don't recall anyone saying they share the driving on long journeys.
Decmum19 · 26/05/2020 17:27

They've lost all credibility and are just gritting their teeth through the questions in the daily briefings. People will ignore the rules and whilst I don't agree with it I can understand the sheer anger and upset over this.

Alsohuman · 26/05/2020 17:28

Wow, we’re in our 60s and share driving on long journeys. Who knew things had gone backwards in the last 20 years.

Alsohuman · 26/05/2020 17:29

Civic duty! But not if you work in Downing Street!

SophieB100 · 26/05/2020 17:30

Press briefing in September:
We've found a cure, we have treatment and a vaccine.

Questions from the press:
So, why did Dominic Cummings change his blog?

No one from sky- of course!

mbosnz · 26/05/2020 17:32

I shall exercise my own judgment, in light of my own unique personal circumstances as to what extent I shall follow any guidance from the government. . . isn't that what we're supposed to do? Or is it just what they're supposed to do, and we're just supposed to blindly accept whatever dross they come out with as being pure spun gold?

merrymouse · 26/05/2020 17:32

'entirely reasonable for reasonable people to disagree'

unless you are in the middle of a pandemic and are about to launch a track and trace programme that will require the population to isolate on request, regardless of inconvenience.

JamieLeeCurtains · 26/05/2020 17:33

Has Beth been banned?

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 26/05/2020 17:33

No way will I be touching that app with a 10 foot barge pole

JamieLeeCurtains · 26/05/2020 17:35

"Local lockdowns will be part of the future ..."

I think that ship has sailed, Matty boy.

Alsohuman · 26/05/2020 17:35

Has Beth been banned?

Probably. Apparently her lipstick upset Twitter yesterday!

SophieB100 · 26/05/2020 17:35

They can stick their app!

He should go

He is looking more and more like Boris’s puppet master, it’s not going to do Boris any good to keep him on. In my opinion it shows he has far too much power. He couldn’t even keep to the rules that he helped to make

SophieB100 · 26/05/2020 17:39

That breakthrough drug is the drug used for Ebola. It has been found to have some effect against Covid19. It has been in the news for a while.
They are trying to detract everyone.
Martin the vicar from Brighton was the best - revoke fines for breaking lockdown for childcare Grin

OP posts:
JamieLeeCurtains · 26/05/2020 17:40

And now Hancock says he'll ask the Treasury to review any fines dished out for people trying to sort out childcare.

What about people who were told they couldn't use certain childcare arrangements they needed?

Shambles.

SophieB100 · 26/05/2020 17:42

"Local lockdowns will be part of the future ..."

I think that ship has sailed, Matty boy.

Absolutely. But it doesn't matter if your locality is locked, nah, you just get in your car and bugger off to another county, around 260 miles away to an area unlocked.
Simples.

PotholeParadise · 26/05/2020 17:44

If this provocative comments in briefings continue, we'll be able to use public fury as a source of greem energy.

Could decommission a nuclear power station.

SophieB100 · 26/05/2020 17:44

Martin the vicar is being interviewed on Sky!
Brilliant!

OP posts:
NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 26/05/2020 17:45

They are going to review fines for people having sought childcare? What lengths will they go to to change the rules to suit one person?
