To join in doorstep protest tomorrow evening 8pm and urge others to do the same?

At 8pm tomorrow 26 May my family will take part in this protest.

Not that I think the consequences should end there....but I need to register my disgust somehow at the contempt Boris Johnson and the Government have shown for all of us.

I can't express how appalled I am by this, I know what my family has gone through and I have seen the hardships others have faced; and still kept to the rules for the sake of the public good. The Government's actions have shown how little respect and regard they have for us.

I do hope that others who feel similar outrage join in with this protest.

I don’t like Dominic Cummings but come on. A doorstep protest? Embarrassing

vinoandbrie · 25/05/2020 15:06

How unpleasant.

Tattoocrazymum · 25/05/2020 15:06

9/10 i clap for the NHS on a thursday
But this booing will make you and anyone else look a total twat.
You do realise not everyone has social media?
Little old doris walks past and you walk out your door booing Hmm

Boris and the rest of his minions dont give a shiny shit how many of you are booing from your front door to show your disapproval.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 25/05/2020 15:11

I would imagine quite a few of us have vulnerable people we care for, are key workers and risk ourselves by going out every day.

Even if the express and facebook are encouraging a frothy boo, I can’t get excited over it.

If our street booed, the cattle would come investigating. I daresay they couldn’t tell the difference between mooing and booing.

I have more important things to worry about and do than tit about booing someone who won’t hear it. Or care.

When you see heaps of folk flout the recommendations, one more isn’t really going to matter.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 25/05/2020 15:13

I dislike mob hatred and witch hunts as much as I dislike liars and hypocrites

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 25/05/2020 15:14

That ^

They are also the ones that chunter on about being kind as well I bet.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 25/05/2020 15:16

It's a bit childish and silly. Devalues the point you are trying to make, imo.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 25/05/2020 15:24

If I felt like booing then I’d be booing for the chomp that suggested this.

They clearly have lots of important things to do Hmm

BertiesLanding · 25/05/2020 15:28

I find it infantile. And the argument that the govt has been equally infantile doesn't cut it because it's infantile too: "Well, they did it first!"

Davros · 25/05/2020 15:30

Nanny0gg that had occurred to me too

Fosler · 25/05/2020 15:31

Get a grip for goodness sake.

Didn't three labour MP's do the same but nothing was said about that!
The media are bullying Cummings because of Brexit! That's all.
There's much more news worthy things that deserve attention.

So, no, I definitely be booing, neither will I be clapping.

OptimisticSix · 25/05/2020 15:32

I'm still laughing at Boo for Boris. Thats brilliant Grin

VenusTiger · 25/05/2020 15:32

Grow up. Get on with putting your child/children before anyone's opinion in a serious situation.

VenusTiger · 25/05/2020 15:33

@Fosler - yes, I've mentioned this in another thread but got ignored - one of them, a Labour MP, travelled 209 to sit with his dad ffs!

CutCopyPastedLikeYou · 25/05/2020 15:40

Cringe!

NutellaOnButteryToast · 25/05/2020 15:41

OP, comparing it to the NHS clapping is absolutely ridiculous. That's a show of unity and appreciation.

What you're proposing is the exact opposite.

It's honestly one of the most immature, cringey things I've heard in a long time.

To echo what others have already said a lot, write to your MP, for goodness sake.

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 25/05/2020 15:42

Please do not waste you energy in booing, waste it in making a lot of noise/Sharing in social media/twitter posts so this doesn’t die by the weekend.

SuperlativeScrubs · 25/05/2020 15:44

I presume that nobody on here bothers to clap for the NHS on Thursdays as obviously, doorstep demos are pointless.

Exactly. It is. I need PPE and higher pay, not fucking seal clapping and banging drums.

cyclingmad · 25/05/2020 15:45

Hahahah are you for real! This has to be the funniest thing I've read

What utter tripe. If anyone near me did that, I would be thinking what an utter twat they are.

wanderings · 25/05/2020 15:46

This whole saga whiffs of a storm in a teacup the government has deliberately brewed up. I’m sure there’s a much bigger scandal the government is trying to hide. It all seems just a little too strategic, and I’m sure Boris isn’t as stupid as he’d like us to believe.

Thecruxxofitis · 25/05/2020 15:49

I presume that nobody on here bothers to clap for the NHS on Thursdays as obviously, doorstep demos are pointless
I clap because to say thank you to the many NHS workers down my road (who all clap and bang the drums the loudest) and I’ll stop when they stop. I’d rather celebrate and show solidarity to my NHS neighbours than boo one man in London (or Durham) because he broke the rules. Slight difference there

waitrosequeue · 25/05/2020 15:51

Ooooh please do it Grin

recycledteenager24 · 25/05/2020 15:53

i'm surprised op hasn't had the thread pulled yet.

Campervan69 · 25/05/2020 15:54

Ridiculous. I think everyone needs to calm down. But I guess everyone is very bored.

TimeWastingButFun · 25/05/2020 15:55

More saucepans and noise. Let's start actually doing something constructive - change.org or something to get NHS pay rises and another to put pressure on Boris to sack Cummings. Or write to MP.
