To think if Boris won't sack Dominic Cummings then Boris should go?

madroid · 23/05/2020 20:16

Boris Johnson will have known Dominic Cummings broke all the rules of lockdown and self-isolation by taking his covid-19 wife to County Durham 260 miles away to his elderly parents' home.

Boris will have known that Dominic Cummings then went back again two weeks later.

Boris has told the rest of the cabinet to defend Dominic Cummings now he's been found out.

AIBU to think Boris should go too?

Judy

But it's not an open debate on Mumsnet. Not ever.

It's 99 percent labour voting and permanently picking holes/ political point scoring and making absolutely vile and appalling and unnecessary comments about members of the Conservative party.

Anyone who differs from this and who has a different opinion gets shouted down.

It's becoming tedious and fucking ridiculous.

StealthPolarBear · 24/05/2020 08:50

I get that you find it boring and tedious. I find knitting and crochet boring and tedious which is why I'm here and not on those threads.

Ultrasoft · 24/05/2020 08:52

I think those sent out to defend him, when as you say, "someone" must have known there was more to come must be absolutely furious. I don't think Boris will go now but I can't see him lasting the year out.

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 24/05/2020 08:54

KuckFnows why should voters of ANY party come on here to question or debate a government that's clearly doing such an amazing job?

Leading by example
Clear, understandable guidelines
A policy which is totally effective

WelcomeToTheNorth · 24/05/2020 08:59

I wonder when Nicola Sturgeon is going to be outed for her stays with her “friend” in Elie while Peter stays at home

Shock is this true?!

Sadie789 · 24/05/2020 09:00

It’s an open secret she has a special friend.

Cabinfever10 · 24/05/2020 09:01

@KuckFnows
We are not 99 percent labour supporters !
Just because we can't stand the hypocrisy of dominic Cummings and want answers about the atrocious way that this Gov has dealt with covid19 does not make us lefties or vile nor are we just picking holes. There are many serious questions that must be answered and to be quite honest heads should roll

Sadie789 · 24/05/2020 09:02

But the press in Scotland are SNP lapdogs so will protect her. The press in England doesn’t care enough to pursue it (evidenced by their cursory interest in the Alex Salmond trial).

There are also IPSO implications around privacy etc but yes it’s widely acknowledged to be true.

emilybrontescorsett · 24/05/2020 09:03

Asking Boris to sack Cummings is like expecting Emu to sack Rod Hull.

Cabinfever10 · 24/05/2020 09:05

@Emily 🤣

Sadie I am in Scotland and agree re press. I have historically been unable to stomach Sturgeon and I loathe her politics but I had considered that she was doing very well in this current situation. So that’s disappointing to read.

Although - I had wondered about the hair

Ratasha · 24/05/2020 09:06

Beautifully put.

Ratasha · 24/05/2020 09:07

Emily I mean

Helmetbymidnight · 24/05/2020 09:12

KuckFnows

you are absolutely free to defend the govt - pretending that you cant because of a lack of 'open debate' is ridiculous.

Sadie789 · 24/05/2020 09:14

@WelcomeToTheNorth I agree she has shown better statesmanship than her English counterparts, but it has always been the case that she can talk a good game.

Years of coaching from her mentor.

WelcomeToTheNorth · 24/05/2020 09:17

Sadie this is very true. I have been truly sucked in. Of course she’s just the same as all the rest.

lljkk · 24/05/2020 09:18

BJ was in hospital & it all happened on Raab's watch, no?

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 24/05/2020 09:24

Id love to see the back of the lot of them but theres this thing called democracy. Much the same as Brexit.

LadyWithLapdog · 24/05/2020 09:24

Johnson should sack DC. No other way. Mugging us all like this.

LadyWithLapdog · 24/05/2020 09:25

Democracy allows Johnson to exert leadership.

1066vegan · 24/05/2020 09:25

@Sadie789 and @WelcomeToTheNorth Nicola Sturgeon hasn't had visits from a hairdresser. There were so many rumours about this (because people couldn't believe that she could keep a short, layered cut looking good) that she tweeted a photo of her cutting her own hair).

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 24/05/2020 09:29

Nicola Sturgeon posted photos of herself cutting her own hair with the aid of the internet. I'm sure she had gone darker as well which probably explains her lack of roots. I'm not Scottish and couldn't care less if Scotland leave or stay, I do think she has been a far better leader during the pandemic than our invisible Man! I know he's been ill but he is the only person I have ever heard of convalescing before he got sick.

Ultrasoft · 24/05/2020 09:33

I'm not sure that Tweeting pictures of herself trimming the ends proves she's been cutting her own hair. If it's that easy why do any of us use a hairdresser?

YeOldeTrout · 24/05/2020 09:34

Who has been cutting the hair of male politicians? None of them have 2 months excess growth showing. Do we really think Sarah Vine got the clippers out?
