I was wondering why the news just come out now, when the government is trying to convince us it is safe to use public transport, go back to work or send our kids back to school with hardly any guidelines and against medical advice.

I don’t think it is safe to lift the lockdown yet, I have been very careful and respecting the advice, I have not seen my partner for 8 weeks, but after seeing such blatant disregard of the rules even I feel like we should all forget about the lockdown, because if DC can ignore the rules, so can we!

Exactly my point! Several of them have made genuine arses of themselves and they're not all so thick they won't have realised. The government really are using up a lot of political capital to defend him, which is particularly interesting given that most of the Cabinet allegedly hate him.

He's not the kind of guy who A) you would choose to confide in B) has many true allies C) is much interested in other people as people. He seems to understand how to manipulate crowds and mass messages but has no personal charm that would lead to embarrassing indiscretions being disclosed. I honestly think he's the last person to have much grasp on anyone's secrets (other than his own).

I'd imagine it is out now because 1) legal checks and confirmations are solid. 2) if it had broken when he and Boris were still sick it would have not played well with the general public and 3) his wife recently wrote and published an article for the Spectator about their experience of self isolation and Covid 19 that has now been proven to be false.
