His justification is not in any way understandable. His wife has two siblings close to where they live if, as he claims, he was putting the welfare of his child first and needed family to step in. How many stops did he make on his journey? How many opportunities did he have to infect people around him? Why did he risk infecting his presumably elderly parents? If he was so ill, why was he seen kissing his mother on the cheek on her birthday and dancing in the garden to ABBA?
This could be a deflection away from the Johnson / Arcuri business yes, there could be something else going on. Yes. Who knows? Nothing surprises me these days from this morally bankrupt pit of lying, incompetent and narcissistic snakes.

There's a really simple reason why this story has taken weeks to come out. Someone tipped off the Guardian and Mirror a few weeks, and they've had to stand it up. That takes time.

BJ has 4 kids with the first wife, I think. There is also another one supposedly born in 2012 who he has nothing to do with. Maybe the mother of this child wants more money for her silence? Probably there’s more kids around too.

The Govt know he is a loose cannon and if they dump him he will publicly shit all over their rubbish Brexit plans to the press. BJ doesn't need more crap on his fan when he can't even control what's smeared all over it already. Plus Cummings knows they are still going for herd immunity, thanks to being the one to suggest it, so would literally pull the pants of the party around their ankles. He is in charge without any of the repercussions.

I think DC has played a blinder and isn't concerned about what people now think of him rather, like Boris, he is concerned about what history will think.
The UK has a bad case of coronaphobia, with this one story people are starting to say fuck lockdown, if DC can break it so can we, thus making everyone go back to normal and save the economy. We already know DC doesn't give a fuck about people dying so he won't be concerned if death rates increase, just that the economy is saved. Absolutely BRILLIANT mass control of the people.

I think slummy is right - much more likely that Cummings has serious dirt on the government. By defending him they have completely lost any authority or respect they previously had. So many people have made sacrifices over the past couple of months to follow the lockdown rules, and now they're saying that, hey, the lockdown rules weren't that serious and it was up to people to interpret them as they saw fit.

His wife can't have many mates in the pub after work, it's not often journos shaft each other. Sarah Vine (married to Gove) must be thrilled.

Prior to the lockdown, what he did was how the virus was spread around the country, which has led to over 36k deaths and in total 60k excess ones.
To be honest he should be jailed, not sacked.

The Guardian got the story together. There's no smokescreen. Good journalism is all.
