Why now? Why has it come out?

OP posts:
EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 23/05/2020 22:44

I don’t think it’s a diversion from Boris Johnson’s special relationship that’s hardly news

A story like this I am guessing few witnesses so took a while to piece together

The closing ranks around him is interesting (more so that what he actually had done) I can’t remember this happening so openly maybe around election time but we are years from that

I guess he doesn’t necessarily know more than others but he is powerful, ruthless and would you want him as you enemy he has said on many occasions he isn’t a Tory so would switch alliances

TheGreatWave · 23/05/2020 22:46

He is just so arrogant.

lljkk · 23/05/2020 22:53

I imagine Lockdown restrictions are making investigative journalism harder, actually, which helps explain delay, too. This sounds like a shoeleather story if ever there was one.

Trending on my twitter feed... :) Dan Hodges is someone defending DC. Pippa broke the story.

to think Cummings is being blackmailed?
StayinginSummer · 23/05/2020 22:55

He has to be publicly reprimanded. This just isn’t on. Personally I think he should be made to assist nursing staff and clean icu wards to make amends.

JoanieCash · 23/05/2020 23:24

As with PP, suspect takes newspapers time to corroborate witnesses. Possibly tracing car movements etc. Let’s wait for the footage of them isolating in a motorway service station....

pontypridd · 23/05/2020 23:26

I don't normally look at Twitter much at all. But it's been fascinating all day today.

The people of the UK are not happy about this.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 23/05/2020 23:29

Given that he made the government sit on that story of the scientist and his married lover in lockdown for a MONTH before throwing it out as a dead cat to hide the increase in death figures since the care home figures etc were included.

Just deserts for an odious sociopath. I really hope he has to resign because he's done nothing but damage a poor government further.

Anotherblokelurking · 23/05/2020 23:40

To be honest, I trust this government so little that I’m scouting the papers to see what this ‘dead cat’ is hiding. Is there a steep rise in deaths? Some unpopular legislation?
The Jennifer Accuri affair.

PamDenick · 23/05/2020 23:43

#SackThemAll is trending on Twitter.

This is serious shit for the government.
All those who have given birth alone, postponed their weddings, not been able to hold the hand of their loved ones as they lay dying, held socially distanced funerals, tried their best to flatten the curve etc etc are rightly angry.
I predict an interim government by the end of the week.

justasking111 · 23/05/2020 23:48

I cannot stop laughing, I gave him the one where he took his child because he and wife were ill as a bad judgement call. But to go up for a party/easter is just taking the biscuit. And for his wife to write a pile of lies in the spectator was adding insult to injury.

I cannot fathom how they think they will not be found out in this day and age.

GatoFofo · 23/05/2020 23:48

Wonder what the Sunday papers will throw up..?

Chillipeanuts · 23/05/2020 23:48

😂

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if Mr. Cummings has a big, fat file of indiscretions and/or dodgy dealings on the Rt. Hon. Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip and numerous cabinet ministers. How the hell else do you think he’s managed to hang on in there for so long?

pontypridd · 23/05/2020 23:49

How do we get an Interimgovernment - PamDenick?

Wendigogo · 23/05/2020 23:53

As much as I'd love to see the back of this government, this prediction is beyond ridiculous.

StayinginSummer · 23/05/2020 23:53

I agree. The sacrifices so many people have made, then some arrogant man just wades through them and gets his cronies in number 10 to defend him, it’s blatant.

OtterBe4 · 23/05/2020 23:54

Saw on Twitter that ScottishYesTories were told not to comment about Cummings, they have tweeted it themselves Confused

IloveParmaViolets · 24/05/2020 00:02

Someone posted this article on another thread, it is a scary read re Cummings. Basically he's untouchable and we are all in serious trouble, CV-19 is Cummings early Christmas present:

bylinetimes.com/2020/05/20/dominic-cummings-billion-dollar-brainchild/?fbclid=IwAR20_4yk0tveCpwLXndZ9h5r4p-gs-KhUKr8EjpCTN4dTEeoyqVpaYgtCHs

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 24/05/2020 00:07

There won’t be an interim government he will go and whatever the consequences are The PM will squirm his way out of them

What could he possibly gave on Boris

We know who he is and what he is about for years affair scandals, payment scandals, horrendously bad in his role as foreign minister and utterly ruthless this isn’t anything new

Backbench mps are openly critical of Boris Johnson

Let’s hope some start being critical of DC

DC has been openly critical if the press and now it’s time to put him in his place

HeIenaDove · 24/05/2020 00:19

now they're saying that, hey, the lockdown rules weren't that serious and it was up to people to interpret them as they saw fit

So all those who got fined will be getting paid back then.

ssd · 24/05/2020 00:23

This was on another thread, apparently, that's what they're hiding

HeIenaDove · 24/05/2020 00:31

Its like something out of Years and Years.

BatShite · 24/05/2020 00:47

If anything, I would suggest its him possibly doing the blackmailing. The amount of support he has had, along with number 10 actually stating he broke no lockdown rules is just bizarre. Really really odd given circumstances.

Helmetbymidnight · 24/05/2020 07:23

he is brexit- they know they cant do it without him- the cabinet is crammed full of fairly inexperienced ministers eg raab, pritti, brought in for their ideological comitment to brexit. they know they need him.
