I have about 7 creatures growing on my nose and kind find the right group so I'm posting on aibu!

I'm in lockdown but they are sore and really bothering me. One maybe infected. It's getting me down.

Aibu to be so vain? Wibu to post a pic? I have no idea what to put on these things!

You really need antivirals quickly.

It's a Bank Holiday in England tomorrow so GP won't be open, you will need to ring 111 again. I don't understand why they prescribed antibiotics, you need antivirals.

Tell them you are now over 72 hours since outbreak and NEED antivirals fast. You need to be quite forceful as it seems they are not listening to you. Did the second doctor say it was covid as well?

Lysine is a good preventative, my sister swears by it, she gets cold sores. Holland and Barrett do them. Don't use ibuprofen.

Everything seems to be settling down thank goodness.

I've been self medicating with my husbands eye drops and using zovirax.

I've been sleeping for a lot of the day but in between am much brighter

How are you feeling now OP?

Knocksomesense · 29/05/2020 09:58

@plump82 Thankyou so much for checking back in. I've only just seen this.

I am all healed up thankfully - just scabs now. Energy levels have recovered and I'm back to my usual self.

I was still a little weak Wednesday but am 100% today.

I'm a little concerned about the lack of medical care I had. I resorted to some steroid eye drops my husband had when he had an issue with his eyes. It's a worry that I had to use medication prescribed to someone else.

Thankfully I'm ok but other people may not be. It's a stark reminder of what people mean when they talk about non covid deaths. I obviously wasn't going to die but the medical care unfortunately wasn't available. A sobering thought

I am glad you’re getting better.

I think care varies wildly between GP surgeries and that’s not really good enough either.

I had to contact my GP for non-Covid stuff. Callback within an hour, prescription sent to chemist there and then and a call to check up two weeks later.

The message from them is very much ‘business as normal’.

I think my problem is I fell into out of hours care. Our area has the highest number of deaths in the county and quite a high county of deaths in the UK (although far from the highest).

I'm not complaining but it has highlighted the issue to me. The doctors were having real issues examining my eye via video link. One said "I can't really see but I'm sure its not an issue."
