I have about 7 creatures growing on my nose and kind find the right group so I'm posting on aibu!

I'm in lockdown but they are sore and really bothering me. One maybe infected. It's getting me down.

Aibu to be so vain? Wibu to post a pic? I have no idea what to put on these things!

@Knocksomesense, if you go to the main Talk menu, Sporners' Corner is under In The Club

Want2beme · 23/05/2020 15:45

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel some good stuff at Sporners CornerGrin

OP I've had similar on my nose and was told by the pharmacist it could be rosacea. It's now spreading to my cheeks. I still have to go to docs for a diagnosis

DC1JackieReid · 23/05/2020 16:45

Oh OP you poor thing 😟 fingers crossed you get seen. Get plenty of rest you must feel awful.

Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 17:04

I have had a video call with the gp.

"In the absence of further information we have to assume it's corona virus"

I DO NOT have corona virus!!!

Interesting diagnosis. I didn't know facial sores were a symptom??

DC1JackieReid · 23/05/2020 17:24

@Knocksomesense coronavirus??? No! That doesn’t look like anything that we’ve told to expect. Unless the virus has triggered a shingles flare up??? Bless you, hopefully this is a bad memory in a weeks time.

Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 17:27

I really don't have Corona virus. Apparently because I have a headache and am fatigued we have to assume corona virus because cold sores are secondary infections.

I really think it's a rubbish diagnosis. I'm supposed to book in for testing but I feel it is a waste of resources as I've only been for walks.

DC1JackieReid · 23/05/2020 17:30

@Knocksomesense poor you. At least if you go for a test they may take you seriously when it comes back negative?

Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 17:34

I'll probably be either on the up or the down by the time I get tested mon/tues.

Saying that, imagine if I go downhill and then get stuck on a corona ward!

DC1JackieReid · 23/05/2020 17:36

@Knocksomesense goodness I hope not! Sounds like you’re on your own for now, plenty of fluids and rest. Do everything you can to keep yourself ticking over until they see you. Fingers are crossed for you that you stay well until then.

picklemewalnuts · 23/05/2020 17:49

Did he say why he doesn't think shingles?

Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 17:52

She didn't really say anything.

Dh has just looked at my eye and said he thinks it looks worse. But now she's used the C word, I don't feel I can go and get it looked at as I will be put with the CV patients. I categorically know i don't have CV unless it came in on my shopping delivery (which dh sprays and wipes)

pennee · 23/05/2020 18:26

Surely even if it’s a secondary infection they can give you antivirals. That looks really nasty especially by the eye

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/05/2020 18:34

The eye hospitals are still seeing emergency patients, it looks bloody sore.

Suzie6789 · 23/05/2020 18:38

Is the surface of your eye bubbly or just blood shot? If you think you’ve got a cold sore in your eye it’s an emergency and you should be seen at the eye unit- really hope it’s not though

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 23/05/2020 18:45

that look like shingles to me..AND from the first pic i was going to say if you get shingles on your nose its likely to go for your eyes too....it's the same nerve

my optometrist chum told me that when dh had it on his forehead...if it starts to travel then watch out.

also his shingle symptoms were the same as yours...stabbing headache, fatigue, exhaustion

what a fanny the gp is to say corona virus!

Namechange2020onceagain · 23/05/2020 19:20

Have they at least prescribed antivirals? This is terrible.

Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 19:21

I really don't want to "have corona" when I dont. I've just woken up from a nap and am sure my eye is worse. I'm now really reluctant to seek further treatment. I've got antibiotics and am self treating with zovirax (OBVS not my eye)

I would ring them back and quote the NICE guidelines for shingles. It is vital that you get medication. If they refuse, ask them to note it on your records that they refused treatment for shingles.

cks.nice.org.uk/shingles#!scenario

If that fails, I would go to A & E.

Do you have a temperature?

Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 19:33

No fever

OP posts:
Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 19:33

Won't I have to sit with any corona patients now?

OP posts:
Namechange2020onceagain · 23/05/2020 19:35

A & E have have separate section for corona patients. Don't say anything about carona, you clearly have shingles.

FFS I can't believe they said that to you.

pussycatinboots · 23/05/2020 19:37

DH was admitted about 5wks ago, he was given a facemask to wear while he was there. A&E essentially split in two. You'll be fine.

MsMeNz · 23/05/2020 19:42

Scabies possibly?

Knocksomesense · 23/05/2020 19:43

I assume it'll be on the computer system as they check you in electronically
