'Having dinner at friends tonight'

Am I the only one getting ridiculously frustrated with people not giving a flying banana about the rules?!

My mum text me this eve saying she will send measurements of a piece of garden furniture for me tomorrow as she is having dinner at a friends tonight....

Did lockdown finish and I miss the memo?!

A near by family in our village is just as bad, the woman's is pregnant with complications which she cant be arsed to go to the scans for to find out if her baby is ok and what the severity of the issues may be, shes off out seeing every tom dick and harry, having peiple over and driving about with them with her 2 children in tow which she plans to send to school in a weeks time. (Yr1 and yr6)

Meanwhile I'm struggling away, trying to compete a degree, partner trying to work all the hours he can, pregnant and 3 small children yr1, yrR and 2years and want nothing more than to do these things but cant. I cant send my children to school with myself due for surgery in a few weeks and a newborn arrival, knowing shes off swanning about daily with different people coming and going.

My sister is also visiting every friend shes ever known delivering gifts, etc. And while I cant prove she isnt breaking the social distancing I'd be shocked if she wasnt...

AIBU to be ridiculously frustrated and annoyed by this... I litrally feel like the next person who tells me they have broken the rules will get the brunt of it.

Comment all you like. Calling people who are genuinely upset and concerned 'curtain twitchers' is not pleasant however.

Our walk was lovely thank you. We walked near a little stream and the kids were able to talk for the first time in months. My DD is happily eating her dinner now and has a big smile on her face. I have been worried about her the last few days. She has been emotional. Unmotivated. Sad.

Saw a few others out on dog walks with a friend or family member. Everyone was smiling. We all need to give eachother a break.

peperethecat · 22/05/2020 12:00

Neither is making comments about somebody else's pregnancy scans when that has got absolutely nothing to do with you whatsoever.

Theislands · 22/05/2020 12:02

@peppercat eh? What on Earth are you on about? You ok?

tillytoodles1 · 22/05/2020 12:02

It's my daughter's birthday on Sunday. I'm going to her house in a mask and gloves to have lunch in her garden , sat two metres apart. Its the first time me ive left home in eleven weeks.

peperethecat · 22/05/2020 12:03

It's right there in the goddamn OP, @Theislands!

Theislands · 22/05/2020 12:04

I honestly don't have a clue what you are talking about?

carolebaskinsheadband · 22/05/2020 12:05

The people going around breaking the rules are the people who will expect to have medical care available when they get it and won't give a flying fuck when they cause there pandemic to continue longer than needs be.

peperethecat · 22/05/2020 12:05

For the hard of reading:

SistemaAddict · 22/05/2020 12:06

@tillytoodles1 how on earth are you going to eat wearing a mask?

Theislands · 22/05/2020 12:06

OMG you are not ok!? I didn't comment on someone's pregnancy scan?!?

peperethecat · 22/05/2020 12:07

Although if the OP is sticking to the rules herself I have no idea how she knows all this stuff about this other woman anyway, unless she lives literally opposite and does spend all day curtain twitching.

Jesus christ, @Theislands, did you read the OP or not? Specifically the bit where she claims that a woman in her village is breaking lockdown rules but not getting pregnancy scans?

Theislands · 22/05/2020 12:10

I don't really have time for this. Much sympathy to the OP who I feel for. Bye.

tillytoodles1 · 22/05/2020 12:14

Bercows, I will take it off to eat as we'll all be sitting down. I'll put it back on after I've eaten.

EatsShootsAndRuns · 22/05/2020 12:16

@Theislands go back under your stone, dear. You obviously have trouble with basic reading comprehension so just give it up.

There, there.

crimsonlake · 22/05/2020 12:20

The issue is it will be our problem if they start spreading the virus again, simple and we end up back in lock down with more lives lost.
I feel as if I am living in a parellel universe, still abiding by the rules whilst the majority where I live think it is over.

CoronaMoaner · 22/05/2020 12:21

@Ragwort agree. It really gets my back up that they don’t post on the CV board either, so I see AIBU click on the thread and it’s about people breaking the lockdown rules... again.

crustycrab · 22/05/2020 12:26

@Theislands Confused

Wtf, bizarre outburst there!
