There's really no excuse for shitting in public or leaving dirty nappies on a beach. If you really genuinely do get caught short then do what you need to but clean up after yourself. Take your rubbish away.

If you have unreliable toileting habits bear in mind that your access to toilets is going to be limited at the moment and take precautions or stay close to home.

If it really is so desperately important to you to visit a beach right now then observe the social distancing measures and don't expect normality because lots of sensible patient people are still sticking by lockdown rules.

Frouby · 21/05/2020 15:11

The selfish entitled fuckers are the ones who are sat at home on furlough pr having received the various funding vehicles from the government, funded ultimately by the taxpayers of the future (ie our children) who refuse to go back to work because they have decided it's not safe enough for them yet.

Dunno when it's gonna be safe enough for them to go back to work.

But the rest of us entitled, selfish, rubbish dumping, publically shitting plebs should absolutely not do as Boris says and go out and sunbathe or visit the beaches or countryside cos the self appointed custodians have decided it's not safe yet.

Perhaps we will get an update around October time saying they would like us back. Until then us city dwelling nesbits should stay in the cities with our covid carrying offspring and keep to the city parks within a few minutes of where we live just incase a child needs the loo.

In the meantime, back in the real world some seaside communities have opened back up, have working toilets and maybe even a cafe to buy a can of fullfat coke from. Happy days.b

bellinisurge · 21/05/2020 15:18

"self appointed custodians" or the ordinary people who actually live there and would love to welcome you (and your cash). Who live in your fun house 24/7 with overstretched hospitals and other public services and who are concerned that you and your jollies will bring a spike to their town after you have gone home.

simonisnotme · 21/05/2020 15:31

tell that to the bloody dog owners who let them crap on the beach,
but its ok because the tide comes right in and washes it away Hmm

PafLeChien · 21/05/2020 15:41

Frouby
what a ridiculous post Grin Grin

Some of us still working full time would love to find a clean beach when we can finally have a few hours off, and are not the ones shitting and littering public spaces.

If you can't stop yourself from behaving like a feral twat, indeed you are not welcome.

Yet another poster who has no idea how the furlough scheme works!

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 21/05/2020 15:55

Another 338 deaths today, I'm not seeing that number go down massively, so assume that we are still mid-pandemic.

The problem with assuming that people have common sense is assuming that people have common sense!

We all saw the pictures of the beaches on the news. Social distancing was a joke. People were walking past groups to get to the sea. Queues for the kiosks were like on a normal day.

I think the idea of people travelling to beauty spots should be knocked on the head until numbers start coming down significantly.

Also @Frouby why the hell should people go back to work if it isn't safe? Calling people scroungers is just ridiculous. If you knew these sea was shark infested, would you be going for a swim because you can?

strugglingwithdeciding · 21/05/2020 15:57

My guess would be the sea

strugglingwithdeciding · 21/05/2020 16:00

As for the it's half term ? Most kids are off anyway hence why so busy and still loads furloughed so it's like summer holidays now

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/05/2020 16:03

It's almost as if some can't make their minds up isn't it?
First we're told the general public have observed the guidelines "much better than expected", but let a bunch of people enjoy themselves in the open air and suddenly they're all idiots again

Yes, behaviour can change and yes, there'll always be some fools who behave disgustingly and take no precautions at all, but it seems to me all sense has gone missing if we can't even enjoy a little fresh air and sunshine in a responsible way and maybe even (shock, horror) use a loo

Fortunately some councils have realised this and made appropriate arrangements; others, predictably, go on foot-dragging and whining to the benefit of nobody except themselves

strugglingwithdeciding · 21/05/2020 16:05

Do people realise a lot will be local as well as kids are off and people furloughed , they won't of all travelled

GBarmy · 21/05/2020 16:12

The easy way to tell if someone is local or not on the beach is to see how well they respect their surroundings. If they spend half the day feeding seagulls and then leave all their litter (and shit!) behind, you can bet your bottom dollar they are not locals. We've all heard the saying dont shit in your own backyard....

Or if they are locals they will be gangs of silly teenagers

1forsorrow · 21/05/2020 16:16

Am I the only person living in a holiday spot who would love a visit to a city?

1forsorrow · 21/05/2020 16:18

I can shove a fork up my nose, doesn't mean I should. No that's not how they do the test! Grin

Fluffybutter · 21/05/2020 16:19

@1forsorrow come into London, southbank was very quiet on Sunday .
Get in quick before Khan extends the congestion charge Grin

fudgefeet · 21/05/2020 16:23

A bit off subject but I run along the seafront every morning. Today it was very sad to see piles of pizza boxes, drink bottles and chip wrappings flying about all over the place. It’s been amazing the past couple of months seeing the place so clean and seeing seagulls actually looking for their food in the sea but they are now back on their processed diet.

1forsorrow · 21/05/2020 16:24

@Fluffybutter thanks for the invite. I'd really love to but due to disabled DH I don't go out for long. I've been stir crazy for years so the current situation is probably bothering me less than many others. Enjoy London.

crazychemist · 21/05/2020 16:25

WHO are these people crapping on beaches??? The mind boggles. Surely if you feel you “must” go to the beach, all adults go to the loo before leaving (so shouldn’t need a wee for a while and certainly shouldn’t need a poo!) and you stick a potty in the car in case any small kids get caught out? Seriously! I just can’t imagine crapping in public!

nonevernotever · 21/05/2020 16:25

*b peed in the bushes on a very posh street in Edinburgh yesterday. I'm damned if I'm going to be tied to a tiny radius by the size of my bladder

You need to sort out your bladder issues. Kegel exercises, don't drink so much if you know you are going out, and Tena lady. Peeing in the bushes in a residential street makes you pretty disgusting.*

This. Particularly as Scotland is still in lockdown, despite the crowds on my local beach yesterday. And no, I wasn't there adding to the crowd. I saw the pictures in the pree afterwards. Despite living 2minutes walk away we haven't been there at all since lockdown started because we didn't want to add to the crowds, and thought it more important that the people who live along the front mostly in flats without gardens, have somewhere to go.

aliceinsunderland44 · 21/05/2020 16:27

@crazychemist Unfortunately some people have medical conditions that make them need to go urgently. I'm one of them. Which is why I'm not going anywhere without a nearby accessible loo at the moment.

It's not uncommon.

1forsorrow · 21/05/2020 16:28

@fudgefeet it is the same here every summer but to be fair I think lots of visitors try to use the bins but they are overflowing, I don't understand why businesses aren't responsible for making sure there are enough bins, I assume they don't as it costs them but it should be part of their costs. Toilets are also being closed more and more, shorter opening hours and some turned into cafes and take aways. The Victorians knew what they were doing when they built lots of the old facilities, if people are out and about they need toilets.

SRS29 · 21/05/2020 16:30

I live on the south coast, by the beach...it is absolutely mobbed...cars double parked everywhere, going for a walk is like a game of dodgems Angry, and no, the toilets are not open so god only knows what state the beach will be in once all the luddites go home...it's not even the weekend yet Sad

KatherineJaneway · 21/05/2020 16:41

They need to open toilets immediately. It’s verging on discriminatory. Many women have bladder weakness after pregnancy and it’s a real problem at the moment.

Or you could just exercise close to home and avoid the beach. Just a thought ...

crazychemist · 21/05/2020 16:41

@aliceinsunderland44 well yes, my mother has a condition that means she may need immediate access to a loo. But that’s why she wouldn’t go somewhere without one! Just like you by the sounds of it. I assume the people at the beach don’t fall into that category, as people that have long term conditions usually have work-arounds or avoid unsuitable places.
