Neighbour talking on phone in garden all day and taking calls on speaker phone

Since the lockdown the neighbour has decided to sit in the garden and work. He talks all his call in the garden, talking loudly. Its 6:30 pm and he is still on his phone. I can hear him in my living room! I can also hear all the the participants on the phone! It starts at 10 am and goes on till 7 pm. I cant keep the patio doors open or the noise will be horrendous! Talking to him wont work, they are not the type you can reason with. Its driving me mad! Any suggestions? Maybe I should play music, loudly!!

Is reception bad in your area? Just asking as I often have to stand near a window or by the back door in order to get a signal on a call... I speak quietly tho lol

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 20/05/2020 20:45

Rammstein sounds good.

Rammstein are waaaaaay too good for him. They are awesome! (That said, 'Pussy' played on a loop would be a good addition to his Zoom meeting. They'll think they've been joined by quite a different type of hacker).

Or, failing that, a Vuvuzela ...

There may be good reason for this.

My garden is the only place I can get telephone reception,. Maybe your neighbour is using a laptop while he is on the phone or conference calling so needs speaker phone. 10am untili 630pm is hardly unsociable hours.

Teacher2019 · 20/05/2020 20:55

I'm in the same boat. Neighbour decides they want to play music just when LO is going to sleep :/

Chillipeanuts · 20/05/2020 20:56

Just ask him to be considerate. He may not realise how irritating he is. If he dies and just doesn’t care, haven’t you always wanted to learn the violin/trumpet/drums ..... harmonica? The weather is so glorious now, it would be a terrible shame not to improve in the garden.

Chillipeanuts · 20/05/2020 20:56

Does, not dies Grin

We should get him together with my neighbour who blares music nonstop all day in her house.

Only time music goes down is when she's in a call.

The way the acoustics work is that I can't hear it inside but in my garden it's deafening. Nonstop magic FM allllllll day.

She's not even in the garden. She's inside.

And it irritates her when my 8 year old DD decides to use it to make dance routines 😂

Ask him (loudly) if he will kindly return the anal lube if he as finished with it.

Shout helpful suggestions over?

Or start using a Kertcher on your paths/patio etc. Believe me, he won't be able to hear a single thing once that's going (my neighbour has one and it drives me crazy)

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 20/05/2020 21:59

Get a piece of wood and a box of nails. Take out your anger by hammering them in . Put it on top of your dustbin so it amplifies it. Hopefully that will send him inside.

Babymamaroon · 20/05/2020 22:00

Definitely go out and play some just loud enough music - have it ready for every time he starts up.

He may not realise just how much the sound is carrying.

littlemeitslyn · 20/05/2020 22:03

Am so lucky neighbours very quiet!!

littlemeitslyn · 20/05/2020 22:04

As am I !!

WhenItIsOver · 20/05/2020 22:04

I have benches that I sand with the electric sander when my neighbour is outside...

Have done them so many times the wood has almost worn away. Eventually I will have to paint them.

Time to invest in a super soaker, OP.

We also live in a terraced house .My neighbour has been doing the same thing. That paired with him smoking non stop from 8am till 6pm while working . the conversations are loud and I can understand every word being said .And when he is not at that his 24 year old son is upstairs either bonking loudly with his girlfriend or laughing and shouting at his computer while he plays online games. This goes on until 2-3 am .We cannot use our upstairs bedroom because of the loud screaming and laughing day and night.I played some very loud music yesterday evening .He wasn't out today.

DdraigGoch · 20/05/2020 22:12

@SunflowerSeedsForever brilliant! I know of one train passenger who went further. He phoned the offender up, pretended to the the PA of the person he was due to meet and told him that the meeting was delayed by an hour.

Shout out "Do the people you're talking to realise that you're broadcasting their business details all over Greenwich?"

JudyCoolibar · 20/05/2020 22:22

Put the last movement of the 1812 overture on repeat. It's the one with the bells and cannon sound effects.

LordOftheRingz · 20/05/2020 22:40

Well you could look at it this way, lots of people are working hard in sheds right now, paying in TAX that will keep the NHS afloat that everyone claps for. lol.
