to not want DH to 'clean' with Zoflora

My husband does his fair share of cleaning, but does it a bit crap. I have largely put up with this as I am aware he is trying, it is just about livable with and I am aware other men are MUCH, MUCH worse than my husband. DH is also aware of this and reminds me.

However, the latest bugbear is that he insists on using Zoflora to 'clean the kitchen' i.e. wiping down surfaces after preparing a meal. Despite my repeated insistence it is a disinfectant, not a cleaning product and should be used after cleaning, if at all.

AIBU to think he should use a cleaning product instead?

I use dilute Milton in hot water on everything, especially at the moment!

"does his fair share of cleaning, but does it a bit crap" - only by your judgement. Doing his share should be good enough.

Ineke, same with Lilac, I'm hoarding the last two drops! Never to be used or else face my wrath.

OutComeTheWolves · 24/05/2020 09:22

If nothing else this thread has shown me that cleaning and disinfecting aren't the same thing. Every day's a school day!

Bluebelle100 · 24/05/2020 15:26

Don't put him off cleaning....I'm the only cleaner in this household.....be thankful :)

Drivingdownthe101 · 24/05/2020 15:58

Stop telling people to be ‘grateful’ or ‘thankful’ that their partner does their fair share of household jobs!!!!

sweeneytoddsrazor · 24/05/2020 17:07

Nobody should be grateful their partner does household chores. Nobody should moan that their partner does household chores differently to what they themselves do. Nobody should be this invested in household chores.

This this this this this! 👏👏👏

I'm fed up with hearing people on here moan about their partner doing nothing round the house, then telling other women whose partners actually behave like a responsible adult that they should be grateful that their partner 'helps'.

It's even worse if anyone has the temerity to suggest people need to raise the bar on what's considered acceptable because apparently that's blaming women for men's laziness. Men are responsible for their own laziness and poor attitude, but the women in their lives shouldn't be enabling it by wiping their arses for them or giving them a gold star for emptying the dishwasher.

Zoflora is something I always consider as something to be used in a mop bucket not on a work surface. Also if you have any pets surfaces should be thoroughly dry before you allow them access as zoflora can be toxic to them.
