To think life will be pretty much normal by early 2021?

I hope we are! A colleague said today (he has no extra knowledge or info) that he can't see us being back in the office before 2021.

Do you think Covid will be mostly behind us by then or we will still be living with restrictions?

Fuck me, I hope so.

Mummyshark2019 · 18/05/2020 17:18

Hope so too!!!

Iwalkinmyclothing · 18/05/2020 17:19

I hope so. Even if not back to normal, I expect we'll be much closer to normal than the current situation :)

Jimdandy · 18/05/2020 17:20

I’m hoping we’ll be back to normal by Oct!! If it was only ever about slowing the spread hopefully we’ll be ok by then.

Mind you I’m an optimist!!

itsaweddingone · 18/05/2020 17:21

@Jimdandy I'd very happily take October!

I think so yes. I do think there will be changes and some restrictions still in place but for the most part life will be normal.

Oysterbabe · 18/05/2020 17:24

I think we will be.

Bestof7 · 18/05/2020 17:24

I think we'll know a lot more about it by then, which will hopefully make things better and not worse!

Irnbroothenoo · 18/05/2020 17:24

Definitey

Irnbroothenoo · 18/05/2020 17:24

*definitely

PatriciaHolm · 18/05/2020 17:24

Well, I can't see 5,000+ of us being allowed to sit happily side by side in as West End Theatre/Concert Hall/Wembley etc even then, if we don't have a vaccine or very effective treatment, but I'm hopeful about much else.

Sparklingbrook · 18/05/2020 17:25

Hopefully, but I am keeping the 2m thing as long as I can.

BoyGirlBoy3 · 18/05/2020 17:25

I think it will be a gradient change with things getting better all the time

helpfulperson · 18/05/2020 17:25

I think by then it will feel normal. Whatever changes are in place we will have adapted to.

IHaveBrilloHair · 18/05/2020 17:27

I think there'll be a new normal by then.

elenacampana · 18/05/2020 17:27

I live for the day I don’t have to factor the supermarket queue into how long it will take me to do any shopping!

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 18/05/2020 17:28

I hope so @itsaweddingone. I really hope so. I think there will have a been a minor culture change (re hygiene, meetings that could have been emails.. which now probably WILL be emails etc!). And we'll all be permanently in the pub.

Sending you all loads of love! Gin

itsaweddingone · 18/05/2020 17:29

@amijustparanoidorjuststoned

Love your positivity! Fingers crossed!

Prof Jonathan Van Tam has just said on the daily press conference that in the absence of a vaccine, we need to prepare ourselves to live with this for years...

megletthesecond · 18/05/2020 17:30

No.
Summer 2021 I think. I am planning for winter to be miserable.

itsaweddingone · 18/05/2020 17:30

@whatchoosay

Live with it yes. Live like this with it - no, that's not what he said.

zen1 · 18/05/2020 17:35

I hope so, particularly with regard to schools, but I have a feeling it won’t be.

Lordofmyflies · 18/05/2020 17:36

Nope. I reckon we'll get another wave in infection rates in September, again at xmas/new year and will probably be coming out the otherside in Aug 2021

EmeraldShamrock · 18/05/2020 17:39

Me too fingers and toes crissed. I think we'll be cautious for a long time, I'm not sure I'll ever be comfortable in a crowd of 100's again.

itsaweddingone · 18/05/2020 17:39

@Lordofmyflies

Why is August 2021 your magic date? And what do you base your views on?
