To ask your Hogwarts house and why?

Only read HP books not too long ago, hence the name . I didn't think I would but I loved it. Constantly looking for conversations about it online.

You're the Sorting Hat here. Which would you choose as your Hogwarts house and why?

I'd go for Ravenclaw - because I'm a bit of a rebel and think Gryffindor is overrated and they're a bit too big for their britches! Ravenclaw is just as strong and powerful.

Failing that, it would be Hufflepuff - The name alone is just 'sweet fluffiness"! Love it..and they're all sweet, kind people and smart there too.

I was sorted into Ravenclaw, and that's the house I would have chosen for myself. My patronus is a stallion, which I don't care for, but it's fine.

According to Pottermore I'm a Gryffindore. Which I really don't mind although I'd have thought more Ravenclaw... But I am stubborn and headstrong so it may have a point.

However my patronus is a husky dog which I'm very happy with.

I live with a pair of Hufflepuffs and know I don't belong there!

I absolutely adore the Harry Potter books (I read them all when they first came out and I reread them fairly often).
I was sorted into Gryffindor on Pottermore and TBH I couldn't see myself in any other house!

I always thought I’d be Hufflepuff, because I’m loyal and friendship is important but all the quizzes I do but me in Ravenclaw. I have never identified myself as smart but I’m leaning into it now, and somehow have started to do really well at pub quizzes, crosswords etc 😆

I've always thought Ravenclaw was less about being book smart and more have ab individual way of thinking and are quizzical about and question everything. Think Luna.

I’ve done so many online sorting quizzes, tried to choose my answers in order to get Gryffindor, yet every single flipping time I get Ravenclaw. I am absolutely a book geek though, as I suspect most teachers are 🤦🏻‍♀️

That's how I see Ravenclaw too. I love Luna by the way!

It's not your abilities that get you into your house, but your choices! (Quoting dumbledore there :D)

Why I'm hoping I'd be hufflepuff despite everything pointing Ravenclaw.

Ravenclaw through and through and my patronus is a ginger cat (I'm ginger irl)

My DH is a Hufflepuff

I'm a Ravenclaw.

I'm not brave enough for Gryffindor - totally bullied as a child (and, actually, into adulthood) and never stood up for myself.

I'm not friendly enough for Hufflepuff - I'm quite insular and find it hard to make friends and even harder to keep them.

I'm not cunning enough for Slytherin - I'm a terrible leader and not very ambitious.

So Ravenclaw it is. I like to think I'm creative and intelligent and accepting but really it's because I don't feel like I belong in the other three.

Ravenclaw because I'm a swot. My patronus is a timber wolf, which is cool.

DH is also a Ravenclaw, DD1 is a Slytherin for sure, DD2 is a Gryffindor. We used to think that DD3 was a Hufflepuff but she has been exhibiting Slytherin behaviour of late.

You don’t just choose a house. You are in the house of the traits you embody the most. All houses are strong and powerful in their own way.

Ravenclaws are ambitious, intelligent, logical but tend to be impractical, curious, inquisitive, witty, creative, wise, observers rather than participants more often than not, cynics. They enjoy intellectual discussion and learning for the sake of learning.

Being smart does not necessarily make you a Ravenclaw if the traits you embody most fit another house more (eg. Hermione, Percy etc.). Ravenclaws are also not necessarily over intelligent and may simply be extraordinary in their area of interest.

Pottermore says I'm Ravenclaw, I think it's right - I'm pretty brainy. But Gryffindor is cooler!

Pottermore put me as a Gryffindor and I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it. It’s like the band that used to be awesome but now people grumble and just find pretty un-cool. Though I suppose it suits my personality mostly.

Slytherin would probably work for me too. I’m basically Harry - depending on my own wants and thoughts I could swing either way.

Hufflepuff as I like cosy & quiet & animals & am kind, but a bit ravenclaw as an individual thinker, curious & quizzical. Far too soft though so probably hufflepuff wins

I always placed myself in Ravenclaw, but Pottermore and any other quiz I've tried always places me in Hufflepuff without fail. I've made my peace with it and can actually feel myself settling comfortably in 😁 and the plus of being near the kitchens, of course!

Gryffindor.

I'm clever but that wouldn't be a defining feature. I'm the least likely person to put my own needs before myself and as much as I'm hard working, it wouldn't be the most important thing. I am very loyal so I think the sorting hat would probably have a hard time choosing between hufflepuff and Gryffindor. I just fell in my heart that I'm a Gryffindor.

I’ve always strongly identified as ravenclaw and that’s where pottermore has me too Dh definitely a Gryffindor. DD1 ravenclaw, DD2 Gryffindor, DS a bit of a Hufflepuff I reckon. Love a good sorting hat quiz lol!

So it's how I meant it to work here. I'm not JK Rowling and I'm deliberately not following "how it works". I've done the "how it works" quiz and I happen to fall into the same category. PP are going either way too. Just a bit of fun, keep your hat on.

The hat takes your choice into account as well
