Scotland?!

Wow.

KenDodd · 18/05/2020 12:44

Oh no! I fell off the ladder! My family are our walking the dog before lunch so I've got nobody else to tell!

ITonyah · 18/05/2020 12:45

Are you serious ken?

KenDodd · 18/05/2020 12:46

I was painting the bathroom, positioned the ladder very precariously (no space for any other way) and fell off into the bath! While holding paint can!

ITonyah · 18/05/2020 12:46

Oh god! Are you ok?!

Alsohuman · 18/05/2020 12:47

Are you OK @KenDodd? Have you hurt yourself?

KenDodd · 18/05/2020 12:47

Not hurt just a little bit shaken and minimal paint spilt in bath.

Lweji · 18/05/2020 12:47

Constantly quoting data from it whilst dismissing other data that doesn’t fit your agenda

What are the other data?

If you want a discussion about different countries we can have one.
I posted the worldometer figures as a counterpoint to statements that the UK isn't doing badly compared to other European countries. It is.

It's certainly on the top worst.

I have lots of criticism towards my own country, but the UK has been a shambles. No doubt.
Belgium has been terrible and Italy, Spain and France woke up too late. But the UK had already seen what happened in Italy and Spain.
Even now coming out of confinement measures, the message has been mixed and without a proper plan.

KenDodd · 18/05/2020 12:48

I bet my family will think it's hilarious (as I wasn't hurt) it was a sit com/you've been framed moment.

Alsohuman · 18/05/2020 12:48

Poor you. Have a sit down and a cup of tea.

Oh God, how bloody British I am!

ITonyah · 18/05/2020 12:49

Ha ha! Well done on minimal paint spilt. Have a cup of tea and sit down!

KenDodd · 18/05/2020 12:50

I think I might just stay here for a bit and slag off the government incompetence. Much safer.

ITonyah · 18/05/2020 12:50

Ha ha Grin yes definitely physically safer

Alsohuman · 18/05/2020 12:50

Amazing, you’ve got the same advice from a rabid leftie and an equally rabid Tory @KenDodd! You’ve brought the country together!

Worse thing is, I work in Health and Safety, I'm an expert at positioning ladders. If I'd gone into a workplace and seen the set up I had in my bathroom I'd have gone mad and shut it down immediately. Nobody ever listens to their own advice though.

Lweji · 18/05/2020 12:57

Even looking at excess deaths, England and Wales are doing poorly. Including in deaths not attributed to covid.

To ask whether anyone who voted Conservative regrets it now?
Lweji · 18/05/2020 12:58

(My sympathies to KenDodd) Flowers

Keepingitschtum · 18/05/2020 13:00

Don't regret it and will do it again, and again, and again.

KenDodd · 18/05/2020 13:01

I'm sorry I've derailed the thread (just slightly) with my cartoon ladder escapades.

TheSandman · 18/05/2020 13:03

Don't regret it and will do it again, and again, and again.

Because? What would make you stop? How fucking evil would they have to get before you decided enough is enough? Or is it a purely tribal thing? "My Party Right or Wrong".

Clavinova · 18/05/2020 13:07

Baffling that people still laud Boris’s intelligence. He managed an upper second from Oxbridge after benefitting from a secondary education vastly beyond the means of most people. So much resource invested for a very meagre outcome.

The meagre outcome being the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom - I think I'd sell my house if I could guarantee that sort of outcome for one of my dc. Don't forget though - Boris Johnson won a King's Scholarship to Eton at 13 - the fee reductions for King's Scholars were probably substantial in the 1970s/80s;

No - no regrets at all. The alternative would have been so unbelievably dangerous.

Alsohuman · 18/05/2020 13:14

Don't regret it and will do it again, and again, and again

I keep wondering what would make them stop too. Directive to slaughter first born? I’m married to one and watching his mental gymnastics and squirming as he seeks to defend them would be comical if it weren’t so tragic.
